I didn't get a charger with mine, so can only use the USB cable from a PC. I gave it a try yesterday and only got a minute and a bit of recording before it shut down, so either the lipo or the cable are fooked. I'm going to take the little pack out and charge it on my charger and see what I can put in it. If I get a decent amount then I'll continue to use it. If I don't I'll rig up some cabling so it can be powered from a flight pack balance lead.

Tee-hee, he didn't bite at my last comment on that, perhaps this will get a response. ;D Did you get a good price? I found bidding on a Saturday morning helped, before the US have crawled from their drunken pits I'm pretty sure I've either got a duff lipo or the USB lead is cr@p. Gonna have to chop the cell out and try to put some juice in it from my charger...If that fails I'll fit a connector to use a flight pack.

I got mine for $20 shipped. If it arrives & works it should be a bargain.
Ive got a FlyCamOne that sort of works, its light & easy to use but it wasnt cheap & the battery is pants.
Only the weekends to fly for me this time of year. :-(

Progress update : USB lead doesn't work for charging the lipo. I opened it up and check the cell and it was sitting at 3.51v. I wasn't too happy with the idea of having to leave it connected to a PC for many hours to fully charge anyway, so I spliced the leads and attached a couple of wires feeding out to a servo type connector. I had a Deans to servo lead supplied with my charger, so now can charge it fully in around an hour on my charger, and know what state the cell is in. Here's a vid I shot with it for another forum showing my U/C mod on the TS. The quality isn't great but the lighting is only a couple of strips lights in my workshop. Ignore the sound, I had the radio blaring at the time! vimeo.com/7672809

Nice engine sounds on the TS! Mine came today - i got all the brackets & charger (US SPEC).
Im confused ginginho, using the USB lead is the only way to charge it so how can it not charge while connected to a PC?
My US spec charger is nothing more than a mains -> usb adapter. It accepts a normal USB lead & the other end is a mini USB connector which fits into the camera.
Still like your idea of charging it with a seperate charger though. :-)
Anyway - what an excellent little cam this is. I love how you dont loose the curent recording if there is power loss from a low battery or you hit the off button. The FCO2 does loose the current recording if the battery dies!
Ive 'reversed' the swing-arm bracket & stuck velcro on it, now it even acts like a FCO2 - allowing me to record many different angles.
Im gonna mount it on one wing looking back at the plane.
Ive also just won another one for $15 shipped - bargain!

Thanks, one of the reasons for getting a TS was the lovely sound that comes from the interference of the two motors, you should hear it at full chat! I dunno why it doesn't work via the USB, maybe it the step-down circuitry (USB is 5V, so I doubt it'll be pumping that into the cell) that's goosed. I'm happy enough with the mod, I'll know when the cell gives up the ghost which may not be the case when charging via USB. I tried mine (before I realised that it wasn't charging correctly) by attaching it to the wing bands. It caused the SC to become very awkward to fly as it would dive the instant I let go of the elevator. It's going in the TS, won't cause any trouble there, and no props in the way to cause unwanted artifacts.

I use a 4Gb micro SDHC card as I had one lying around. I did read somewhere that the older, smaller capacity micro SD cards may suffer from write speed problems and hence suffer from less FPS. Be aware the SDHC cards are not always readable directly to a PC (windows XP/Vista). Originally I would install it in another camera that would then allow the PC to read it, but I've recently installed Ubuntu (linux) on my PC which doesn't suffer from this issue. You may get away with using a USB hub and connecting the spycam to that.
