Bigger the bird the better they fly. I've flown 2 planes this size for older guys at the field with no scare issues.

Well I finally maidened it! It was freaking awesome! I taxied down the run way and turned around intot he wind and then gradually gave it throttle until the tail came up and then punched it. It took off like a rocket towards the moon. It needed no trim! Not sure how I did it but this build was almost perfect. The first flight was about 11 minutes and the second was 12. It uses some petro pretty fast so I didn't want to dead stick. This plane is a floater. I brought it out in front of me about 15 foot off the deck and let it idle intot he wind (about a 8mph wind) and it just sat there. No bad tendencies or anything like that. Just rock solid and steady. It went from a stop to straight up without any torque roll. This DA85 is the ticket for this plane. I cannot wait until the next flight. The weather has been less than good for flying in the last 2 weeks. A fella at the field filmed the maiden so eventually I will get it from him and get a link posted up here.
YEEHAA!!

This is a great looking plane, and looks like you don't even really fly it, you just kinda give it some throttle and it claws its way through the air! Very nice.
I do have a question: I know nothing about gas and nitro engines, but yours sounds a little off, compared to some of the other videos on youtube. Do you have a different engine, or is that just you backing way off the throttle a lot?

excuses excuses we all know you're afraid to fly it... I can sympathize with this statement, as my first purchase was the E-flite T-34 Mentor. Once I put it together, I was scared to destroy it. I have yet to maiden it. My biggest concern now is joining my local club so I have a good place to land it, and big enough area to fly it. BTW, I got it for $260 shipped, RTF, on ebay because the canopy was damaged, which I replaced for $14. ETA: that is not me holding the plane.

It is a DA-85 engine which only has 4 tanks of fuel through it. It will smooth out once broke in all the way. It transitions very well for how tight it is still. Of course it is still set a bit fat until I feel it is time to lean it out a bit. I did notice a possible stall issue when it comes out of a dive ...even a slight one.
