Well I never said throttle...that makes 9 Here ya go. How many needed for each function 4-Ailerons 2-elevators 2-rudder 1-throttle 1-choke _________ 10-Total The throttle servo does not need to be a digital or high torque what so ever so I am using a HS-425BB for that. I plan to put a HS-81 in for the choke and nothing but the best for the rest. I plan to use all HSR-5955TG's for the rest. I cannot say enough good about the TG line of servos from hitec. I have them in my Revo race trucks and they are the BEST! Fast and powerful and most of all RELIABLE...nothing is quite as reliable as titanium.

Hey Kev. Please get someone to video the maiden of this beauty. I want to see the nerves and tension before it leaves the ground and the joy and relief when it lands. Anyhow, how's the build going??

I will definatley have the maiden video'd. I just flew my 540 edge (the other one) seagull and it was AWESOME! I had a iffy maiden with a really bad CG issue but now it's spot on and it flies like a dream. Kevin

Holy crow Mugen... you continue to amaze me... I mean... look at your hobby room there already. This is the big tamale, though. I'm very excited for you.
I, too, am a Michigander but I moved away several years ago. I'll be in MI a few times over the next 4-5 months... but I'll probably never make it North of the bridge on those little weekend trips. I'd LOVE to see your collection and shoot the breeze with you, heh. Maybe someday....

Born and raised in Portage/Kalamazoo. Went to MSU in East Lansing. Left MI in '98. Still have family there and make it up for short trips once in awhile. I've only been to the U.P. once or twice. Never to the Porcupines or anywhere near as North as you are. Now I live in Texas... ensuring I won't have to shovel any more snow for a long time to come.
I'm going to have to live vicariously through you as far as fancy planes. I've got my Super Cub here for a little while... might move to a TigerMoth next.

Well tonight we installed the robart hinges on the ailerons halves. It went rather well. Tomorrow the servo's are due to arrive. So thursday will be a big building day. I plan to get the ailerons both on and servo's installed by thursday night. Maybe a good eve build on friday if wifey says ok...lol. I am selling so much of my car/truck stuff that the funds are rolling back for the planes. I am keeping a few cars and such but am going mostly planes now. No track here any longer so ba bye. I'll keep ya's posted with pics and such as this monster goes together. It's kind of nice to have this site at our disposal to share all this stuff as well as log it somewhere. Peace fella's, Kevin

I am still sorry about the dang stang....still a sore spot. Although there is another stang on the way. Well it is actually here being build by a friend who is bored and loves this crap as much as we do. Just for the record the stang's preflight checks were done thoroughly...lol. Only operator check was missing. Oh yeah and the new stang is not a H9 I had another one I bought before the H9 from nitro models dot com. The nitro models plane is not built nearly as well as the H9 but it is coming along just fine. It has the Louis IV paint scheme which I really like a lot. It looks so much more personal than the traditional stang look. Enough about the stang....this is the 33% THREAD...LOL.

Hey Kevin. The build is looking good. This is BIG BOYS STUFF!! So there are two servos on each wing, what channels do they go to on the rx, and why four??

They need 2 per aileron due to it's size. The ailerons are HUGE! Nearly as much area as cub wing...lol. The servo's will plug into a channel expander before they go to the rx. I may have to run 2 rx's to get all the chanels to fit. Of course with the new radio it will make life a lot easier than it seems now for this build. Just the wait until late dec. thats killing me now. Futaba is still putting release dates out that seem to get farther away.
