My sister-in-law lives in Henderson. Someone had told me of a fly field in Tyler quite a while back. I was hoping to maybe visit it one day when we came that way to visit her or to go to Canton. Nice country when we vitisted Jefferson and spent the night at a bed and breakfast there. Lots of big lakes in that area. www.tylermodelers.com/That was me, the field is public and open to anyone. That's our local club, it's free to join btw. They fly everyday weather permitting.

certain Mods for the SC are essential.....Enforcing the battery box / landing gear area....wing saddle...leading edge tape...for example That's funny - my landing gear has been deliberately made more flexible, the battery box hasn't been strengthened and the saddle hasn't been touched. It's survived well over a hundred flights unscathed, completely, but if they're essential I shall get right onto it As for the weather... The slight break in the wind coincided with too much other stuff to do and now the forecast doesn't look good for a while yet. You my friend , are an exception to the rule.

I am still undecided about doing the rear wing fuse lolly pop mod. When I got home from work I thought I would cut a stick to size but not glue it.Well with the stick in pace my wing sits to far forward making it not sit flush with the fuse at the front. The stick is a fraction under 2mil.

You have to cut out the foam the thickness of the lolly pop stick then stick it in position. I shouldn't worry about it too much, I did dozens of flights before I did that mod and only did it because most on here seemed to.

Weather report is way favorable for the weekend, So we're off to the camp for some R&R and flight time!
A quick update. Saturday was unbelievable. Temps close to 80F, winds calm, like maxed out at 5 mph. It's been a long time that I had to quit flying to re-charge batteries and I have a lot of batteries.
I flew every plane I own multiple times and only had one incident. The prop came off my Wildcat during launch causing the loss of a cowl.
I was asked if I wanted to fly a 1/4 scale gas Super Cub too! I had to decline and inform the owner I only crash my own planes and his was above my pay-grade by quite a bit.

Well, it's going to be a flight heavy weekend. Fitted out a new set of floats for the Cub. The pond is full with all the rain we've had and I need some more seaplane time. Charged all the batteries. Picked up some PVC to make a plane rack for the golf cart.
Stopping on the way out for some paint for a new combat foamy that will be put together this weekend.
Stay Safe!

Well I went and found wind to be 20mph plus, still, it was a long way so flew the Sport Cub anyway, a bit scary particularly the landings as gusty as well. No mishaps and sharpened up my wits and thumbs. Forecast ok for tomorrow but that's what they said yesterday but I'll give it a bash. :-)

I haven't flown since New Years Day.
The forecast is rough for this weekend too. But, with British summer time starting this weekend, the evenings will be light so I can fly after work if the weather permits.
Still won't be enough light to fly all 3 planes in the evening though, so I'll have to pick one each time...
I need a weekend with good weather!
