Received my Funcub last week and this evening I had a little time to start the build. I must say Multiplex have produced yet again another great plane. The way there kits go together is superb.
I will get a few pics up later.

Nice one Paul. MPX certainly have impressed me with the build quality of the TSII and Gemini, it looks like this is no different. I'm impressed with the detail and design that they put into packaging the model, much like the Gem again. The rib effect is reminisent of the Gem, and the U/C wire looks pretty much the same. Did you ever get problems with the U/C on the Gemini? I ask as I read various fora which people moan about it, I've never had any issues with it. Maybe I just grease all my landings. I was amazed how well the Elapor wheels worked on the Gem, I expect those big beggers on this will be just as good. What sort of power setup are you planning on, scale or mental? ;D

Hi Nick. Like yourself I found the Gemini U/C excellent. I've read plenty of posts about people putting cross members to stop the flex. Personally I had no probs with it. Maybe we are the only Gemini owners who grease there landings. ;D
I'm going to put a 3542 1100kv Turnigy in the FC as its lying around. So I think it will be more scale than mental.

Yeah but that should still give it a fair amount of go, I'd of thought. I notice the MPX powerset lists a Himax C 3516-0840 motor, a 350W motor. I have about 320w on my TS (160 per side) running off of one 2250 pack, more if I parallel up another. That looks to be about the same size and weight as your new baby, and is capable of climbing out nicely. Presumably you'll be running it off of 3S packs. It should be good fun!

That looks nice and that motor probably suits it a little better that the bigger one for scale performance.

Nice Pics paul, particularly liking the 3rd one down. How does it compare to the HZ Cub foam wise, is it of similar durability, from the pics it looks a much nicer built kit?

Your right Nick. She does fly scale with a little extra in reserve. More than enough for my style of flying.
I'm hoping to get back to the flying field today and hopefully will get some vid.

Thanks, that pic did come out with nice lighting in the back ground. Theres nothing that compares to the quality of a Mutiplex kit. The Elapor foam is tough. The kits are a dream to put together, they are not the cheapest foam kits but they are worth it.

The kits are a dream to put together, they are not the cheapest foam kits but they are worth it. I've got to agree with Paul on that. As an example, when I maidened the TS I didn't know it was capable of such a long glide into land, so much so that it overshot, skipped once off the turf and then nosed straight into a football changing room, still carrying a fair amount of speed. Damage? A slightly bent nose that was simple to straighten. Bearing in mind that it's a fair bit heavier (1.2-1.4kgs roughly) than the SC so would be carrying a lot more momentum, the SC would have been in lots of bits with that impact. The build quality is magnificent too (check the packaging in one of Paul's pictures, all parts are slotted into a well designed foam packer that just slides out of the box, simply brilliant. The Gemini is packed similarly and is so well moulded that I was "flying" it around the house (like a kid with an Airfix model, whilst making engine noises ) just by plugging the parts together, no glue. D**n you Paul , All this talk of MPX has got me hankering for an Acromaster again now! [Scratching head as to how to explain to SWMBO that I do need another airframe.]

I decided to cut down the box and the foam to hold the wings. This keeps them in tip top condition when in storage or travelling to and from the site.
