I pay less attention to the seller and more attention to the price, and that it's actually the right camera.
Search for "sports spycam" and lots of them will still come up.

Hey Gang Wanting to add some better info to this thread WITHOUT trying to hijack the good info on this thread, but to offer a better camera deal than the one presented.... MANY are finding that the KEYFOB camera is a much better camera than the GUMSTICK thats recommended here..-Many on rcgroups(and the gunfighter P51 thread) are noting: -the keyfob is better technology than the gumstick and shoots better video -its also much easier to mount and lighter than the gummy -in many cases it offers clearer video, and better FPS than the gummy (my flying bud has both, and says the keyfob is heads n tails better...) -can be found for 13 $ shipped! Mine was only 13 shipped, and I got 2gb of memory for another 6 free shipping from a different vendor(provides about 30 mins of video, why would you want larger as flights cant exceed this timeframe usually so 2gb is enough, unless used for other uses,,,wink wink) MY keyfob takes GREAT 30 FPS at 720/480 and my flying buddy that owns BOTH(gum and key) swears that the keyfob is much better video So, just offering the choice for folks wanting the keyfob: Here's a vendor that has them for 13 beans shipped and BUY NOW!(no need to be winning bidder) cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160379668644&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:ITJust wanted to update people here on something a little better.... And happy flying and happy videos!

Interesting, I thought the electronics and components of the two cameras were almost identical.
For 15 bucks I might get one just to try it out.
Thanks for the tip

cheers dillzio for 13 bucks, I think you will be very impressed with the unit. especially ease of mounting just about anywhere more easily... A simple but secure small velcro pad on the wing, and your good to go! Happy Landings

From what I could find out prior to getting one of the spycams, I found that the gumstick is the same components as the original version of the spycam and runs at 15FPS max. I believe that the keyfob is effectively the same as the later version (30FPS) of the spycam. Judging by the videos posted on here, they are recorded on this version. I know mine is as the software I use to edit the videos states the FPS during editing.
By all means get a fobcam, I'm tempted myself TBH, but don't be disappointed if it isn't any better quality that the spycam you already own.

Actually, i think you could be right there Ging. It must have been the older 15fps cameras that seemed obsolete compared to the newer one. I know this one makes 720wide 30fps videos so I can't imaging that the FOBCAM would be much better - although the keychain one does seem smaller, and possible easier to mount

Ive ordered one of those KEYFOB cameras - bargain price. Tons of info on these cams here - www.chucklohr.com/808/The keyfob cam has a sideways looking lens so it might make it easier to use on a plane.

Here's a view of how I have mine mounted underneath in a little pod for filming while float flying. Normally, I just put a piece of velcro on the wing or fuse and stick it on.

This little cam really is superb. Add a little velcro... With the key chain removed mine weighs in at only 16g (0.6oz). It can be mounted virtually anywhere. Even out on the wing (no counter balance is needed as its so light) Side mounting is also possible. Its just a shame the date stamp cannot be removed. I emailed the manufacturers in china & they told me a version could be made without the date stamp but min order qty is 1000. :-(

I have to ask, with the velcro mounting, are you getting a lot of vibrations from the prop? Also, what about the side or under mounting, does the prop spinning get in the video? I think the wing mount might be the most idea for the least vibration and no prop. Anyone's thoughts/experience on this? Can't wait to get mine, it's a long way from the Orient.

The way I mounted my 'gumstick' spycam seems to be just about perfect, I have a forward-down facing angle and it's mounted so securely there are no vibrations. Can you achieve the same thing with the key fob camera?

I know this has been discussed before but has anyone figured out how to get rid of that lame time stamp, it's really bothersome, and would be real nice to get rid of it?

It doesn't seem to be possible, unless you order like 1000 of them. Then they can customize a batch of them for you to not use the date stamp. Maybe you should just crop the date and time out of the video and tell people it's filmed in 16:9 widescreen?
