Well a very good friend of mine has been extremely interested in hearing all about my Super Cub. He says he also has always wanted to learn how to RC fly. He used to be a Hang Glider pilot back in the 70's. So....I ordered a complete "Scratch" Super Cub. All the parts to put a Super Cub together from Hobby Zone. I have a spare 72 mhz TX/RX so I will equip the scratch SC this way. My friend is a big time Raider's fan. So his Super Cub will be all painted up in the Oakland Raiders paint sceme. Got some silver and black Krylon Fusion paint and quite a few of the Raiders decal logos...hence, Air Raider. Hopefully it will be done by Christmas.

Started painting the Air Raider Super Cub! Pic soon if someone wants to see??? Krylon Fusion...First painted in Silver, and then taped it off and shot the black. The black reacted wierd and speckeled? No worries though , it looks fine I think.

Looks very nice Alex, I suspect Jerry will be pleased as punch. One small thing, are you going to put any markings on the underside of the wing? I'm just thinking silver against a grey cloud may not be too easy to see.
Oh yeah, have you been messing with the motor? Thrust angle looks a bit vicious!

Yes the wing is getting the 5/32" brass tube/3mm carbon fiber rod...mod, so it can fly without the wing struts. Then I will put two or three orientation stripes on each wing underside. Motor is completely stock. Thrust angle is completely stock, battery is stock also. I did buy a compatable BEC from GWS that has matching battery plugs for the stock battery. I also made a plywood servo plate and installed two regular type 9 grams servos.

Air Raider Cub was completed yesterday, all electrics in, elevator and rudder trimmed. I boxed it up this morning and it is in the hands of UPS on the way to California. It was fun putting it all together and I am sure my buddy Jerry will enjoy it!
