Well, Jerry is not the biggest computer guy....but check this out: He has been flying and flying and flying the wings off The Air Raider Super Cub. Last week he called to ask if I would help him with a hot rod Brushless motor/ lipo upgrade. That's easy...So I have all that in the works with Jeff at Heads Up RC's help. Well....This morning Jerry calls me and all he says is "I got a new one"!!! I say "Yeah, what new one do you have" This is what he just bought: ecsvr.com/abm/shopexd.asp?id=2684www.theworldmodels.com/para/instruction/pdf/E287XM.pdfIs this Hobby addicting or what!!! LOL!!! Go Jerry Go!

No he has not flown a warbird before...I warned him for 30 min on the phone. He says he met an expert RC guy whom is going to help him with it. Jerry also tells me he just bought a DX6i/AR6200 combo and a new FMA 4s Cellpro Multi charger. The DX6i has a trainer port so him and his instructer friend can hook them up. He will be fine.

ah that's good. alot of newer pilots want to jump right in to the warbirds especially the p-51, but its definitely not noob friendly lol. once he gets the hang it should be a great flyer.

Sweet plane. Is a big jump from a foam Super Cub to a Balsa P-51, but it sounds really good that he has someone to trim it and let him hook up as a buddy box. And directly from stock batteries to 4S Li Po... Woo..., the selection of a Cellpro4, good choice. (that's not really a sentence but you get the gist) Hope things work out very well for him.

Haven't read this thread for a while but pleased to see Jerry is enjoying the SC, it makes all your hard work worthwhile. The P-51 does look very nice, I'd like one....someday.

Tailgate...I used to do "spray in bedliners" and that is a customers tailgate that I had sprayed two weeks prior to his accident. It was an example of how tough my spray in bedliner was, not one crack, tear, or peeling away even when almost folded in half. Customer was towing a goose neck trailer and forgot to put the pin in the hitch. It came loose at 55 mph and proceeded to go backwards with a full load as the truck continued on at 55 mph. This is the next plane on my must have list: www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=5287&Product_Name=HK_Spitfire_EP/.25_ARF__(retract_ready)

That's a good looking Spit, balsa, $90. What do you think of their recommended motor KDA 36?

I have heard it is a real nice flying plane and seeing how my whole family is from Britain and dear old Dad was in the RAF, gots to put a Spit in my hanger. Not sure about the motor, I usually ask Jeff at Heads up RC for his advise, Tell him I want it to scoot and show him what they recommend, and he'll direct me to the right motor. Done 3 planes with Jeff's motor's and ESC's, very good stuff. Plane is $90 and shipping is $40...not too bad.

Alex, That's a nice looking model too. I use a Keda motor in the SC and am very happy with it, although that one is a fair bit bigger. According to Drive calculator (www.drivecalc.de) using an APC-e 10x7, 3S lipo it'll have approx 1360grams of static thrust and pull 33Amps. Of the listed props on HC, an APC-e 11x7 would give 1600g of static but pull just over 39amps which is over the motor rating. On either of these it reckons you'd get just over 5 minutes of WOT on a 3700mAh 3S lipo.

No need to worry about the motor, not there yet...have not even ordered the Spit, yet. Still need to maiden my T-28 Trojan.
