do you have wells for that? Hi pvt. I assume you mean wheels. The Ripmax Spit comes as a hand launcher. Some owners have fitted it out with retracts. Hammers. The Spit is built and i got her flying today. It's not been without some frustration. I took the Spit to the flying site on Tuesday. Everything checked out. I raised the plane to shoulder height, moved throttle to 75% and was just about to launch when the RPM started to drop rapidly. Brand new lipo not holding charge. End of day one. Day two. A little bit windy but i decide to go for it. I now have my flightpower lipos installed. The hand launch into wind went well, put in left aileron input and as i was half way through the turn it snapped to the right. I tried to compensate with more left but it was all over the place. At this point the plane was doomed. Broke motor mount. I blamed the wind. Back home for repairs. I took a saw to the mount and cut it back to the fire wall. I then put together a stick mount. Not the greatest of repairs but it was going to do the job. Day three. No wind Exactly the same problem as day two. Snapping to the right and left. This ended with the stick mount ripped off. Last night i made my final mount and then started to think what was causing the problem. I certainly cannot blame it on the wind. After a call to a friend back in the UK and a lot of head scratching it all boiled down to aileron throws When i set up a new model in my TX i normally put in the model name and reverse my throttle channel and then leave everything else at default. It seems to work with the other models. This meant my ailerons had a throw of approximately 20mm or more, up and down. The instructions say 8mm each way. I reset them and went to the flying site today. All i can say is WOW. The Spit is a wonderful flyer and looks great on the flybys. And she handles the wind perfectly. I have some vid of today i will put it up soon. Stock mount and my home made mount.

Nice Spit. That's what I wanna fly when I grow up! Thought I might try this year, but I think I'll stick to the high wingers for another season. One question; do I understand correctly that you are using (2) 3s Lipo's at the same time ? If so, are they in series to increase voltage or parallel to increase run time?

Hi M. They are in parallel. Longer run time and you need the weight up front. A 3700 pack is the perfect size.

I had one of my best days flying about a week ago. It was cold but the sun was out the sky was blue and zero wind. I was also joined by this amazing bird. Are you in Haslemere as you loc states SCC or Italia (I think I read somewhere that you were or are there). If it is Hants, I think that's a Red kite and if so I'm tickled pink that they are in your locale. If it's Italy, I've no idea what it is. Oh BTW, the Spit looks nice too!! Nick (A likkle bit drunk on Friday night)

Morning Nick. Hows the hangover? ;D You are correct that is a Red Kite. I have moved back to the UK now. I'm in Hazlemere, Buckinghamshire. The Kite was beautiful and LARGE. You cannot tell from the pics but I swear the Kite was bigger than the Spit (48 WS). It followed the plane for about a minute and then off it went. The Spit is pretty fast and turns can be quick. If it had been my Easystar I think the Kite would of had a foam lunch. It was an amazing experience.
