I think I am going to go back to stock as well.. LOL @ ME just upgrading everything and NOW switching it all back over... It flies GREAT stock as well as with ailerons. I just think it would be fun to have 2 planes instead of 1. Now I gotta find the stock rx.. lol

I did one for a guy locally and used dubro #851 90 degree bellcranks. It was not as good as a 2 servo set up. You need to use cf rods instead of piano wire. The wire bends too much. I epoxied some cf into rod ends clevises and it worked better. In the end he had me build him a 2 servoo wing. Much better response and happier pilot.

Count me in the ailerons club. I got them cut out today. I'm just waiting on my servos and stuff from hobby city. Hopefully it gets here soon. I'll post a final pic when it's done. Here's my cutting pics. They are 12'' long and 1.75'' wide. New dx6 tx! Also what are you guys using for push rods, and is anyone strengthing the wing at all? Now that it's got two chunks out of it is it weaker?

Hi There Flyinghigh I read in a post some where ( not sure where ) that that person used pushrods from a stryker27 cut down. I will find out because when I do ailerons on my SC thats what I plan on using Happy flights sayers

just some 2-56 rod and some clevises work great. Also some decent horns for the ailerons.

I'm considering joining the aileron club. I thought I would take the wings, eliminate the dihedral, and set up a standard-size servo on each side to convert them into "wingerons". Also I was thinking of a full-flying elevator and rudder. Any suggestions?

Well I finally finished my ailerons after getting all the parts and elects for the plane it's ready to be flown. I also clipped 2.5'' off each wing because they were getting beat up. People seem to say it still flies ok with clipped wings. Pics From the bottom. DR right Other direction Shown are spoilerons. What should I do, spoilerons or flapperons? What's the difference?

Just back from the aileron maiden. All I got to say is AWESOME! It flys great with ailerons. The clipped wings also picked up the speed. I do actually like the square wing tips. Looks great in the air.
The rolls were nice and slow. Very scale like. I could turn on a dime with ailerons and rudder together.
Also, the spoilerons worked great. Even though the cub is pretty slow on landings already, the spoilerons slowed it down even more. They are also cool for slow flybys.
All in all I'm all smiles! It's almost like a new plane!

flyinghigh does the cub still automatically right itself with the ailerons on? did you take out the dihedral?
