Rc Saylors do a good job and i could not even imagine having that strapped to me and jump off a heli looked awesome, but I'd never do it...lol speaking of Yak I have a couple with this paint scheme www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyWwD8-SKsMThis is what my Wilga looks like from HK www.youtube.com/watch?v=y1JBrOlnvokBe nice to see both these styles of planes made a tad larger

The wilga looks a nice bird ,a large helicopter cockpit almost ,i noticed that with the nose overs the wheels are mounted behind the uc legs seems strange. well done finding a real yak 12 ," a red Piper Cub"

www.generalhobby.com/wilga-30cc-plane-p-1146.htmlgeneral has some Large Wilga's....wow no Yak 12 there tho. yeah the landing gear is odd....mine has smaller wheels than the video one I have had no issues landing it....it flies pretty slow with flaps down, lands easy.

Hello there in the loft i have a J3,about 68ins ws, i think i paid £68 for it years ago.i never had a big enough motor to get it off the ground, lost the windscreen and part of the forward cockpit needs re -working, so how about a friendly challange, the first one to get their J3 airworthy with a glamour photo posted, if nothing else i would give us some motivation, although i am slightly lucky that mine is pretty well covered ,just a couple of rips ,i will have to get a photo up for before and after comparison.all the best chris

you win....lol
I doubt the old balsa cub gets much love
I have been working on a modified Super Cub...brushless, aileron, flaps etc.....
have the wing to finish , cut out and servo's install
I would have to buy a motor to make the old J3 to work also, and different servo's
may look into a small quad to fly about in my yard....may also look into FPV

Hey Chris Hope all goes well on the job....just keep getting better yeah , I am turning to the dark side some what...lol well I am kinda looking forward....could be as health issues arise and these crazy laws and all the mess around here being able to just fly in my house and in my yard , may be the only way I will continue to fly in the coming years . While I am able , may try and get some learning and some technical understanding of these quads more funny thing is I have a few ( two together I showed you ) but also some frames , motors etc, I have to build myself of course by the time I buy something it is usually obsolete and when I try an get info about it everyone is far beyond that...lol Almost every plane i own now is discontinued....and barely can get parts when needed I guess I am just getting obsolete and discontinued as well....lol Let me know how it goes

Just watched the Yak 12 vid ,blimey when its in the air you would`nt tell it from a real one, specially with the resonation of the propeller when it pulled up into a climb .the return to work went a bit pear shaped ,bit like a flying session lots of enthusiasm and no forward planning, i started work and after half an hour one of the managers came over for a chat ,and asked me what my doctor had suggested,it was then i remembered that i was still listed as unfit for work so i got sent home. i have this sorted now ,i will make a second attempt on friday ,with a letter from teacher to say i can do light duties , my employers will jump at this,as they are fed up with the unreliability of the younger element either not turning up on time or drugged up or drunk, don`t suppose i will earn much, but at least i will be back at work.chris

good to hear you will be going back
yeah always have to have the return to work slip
was looking about for quad / FPV
learned something I did not know and silly if you ask me
appears to fly FPV legal one has to have a ham radio license ? do not remember reading that anywhere until now
has absolutely nothing to do with FPV, guess some goof thought it would be a nice way to get more money from folks who like to use technology .
also seems one has to find a place to take a test...ran a search for anything around here came up with one over 60 miles away....yeah like i can do that...
they have the dumbest things in this Country
so i asked questions over on another forum about that appears one can flash a card in front of their camera with a call sign ...
I asked who would know whether I did or not ? some said put call sign on your display screen in case your signal interferes they can see who you are and call you ?
But i said How..If I am flying a quad and I am the only one who see's what i am looking at how does anyone know, well unless I posted all that on the internet with that info ?
So who would know if I am flying or not flying or licensed or not ?
I do not get it ? I asked if the FCC gets a beemed signal or something ? ( Star Trek maybe ) and will they send black suits and ties and helicopters and Black SUV's after me ?
seriously who would know, my Cat rat on me ?
LOL...
it is so stupid to be honest, just to fly a toy in my house ? seriously....

The way i look at it ,the training is more for the commercial drone pilots, people doin`g aerial photography for a living ,if you look at the nature programs and even films ,and sporting events lots of drone footage, of course all these operators need risk assessment protocol ,insurance and of course training and certification. but of course the people they are after ,the crims dropping mobile phones and drugs into the prisons don`t worry about all that . i make a distinction here ,the big load carrying professional stuff i call drones, the cheaper stuff indoor ,or under lets say under £500 ,i call quad copters, there is a bit of confusion because technology being what it is ,certain things filter down from the big stuff ,like GPS ,altitude hold, return to home ,but a decent law enforcement guy should be able to tell the difference from a "sport" quad and a commercial set up. i think the bigger problem is the 250 size fpv race quads ,these things can go way faster than our planes and are harder for the dog walkers to see and avoid. but in your back garden with say an fpv quad about £130 i cannot see the problem.chris
