Hey Chris , good to hear...yeah FPV is so much fun
still no outside flying here...
winds and rain and colder...Brrr....lol
hope to see some lights in the sky on video ...cool can't wait
maybe one day before it gets to much colder
it will clear up enough to get a couple flights in...I hope

Hello Ed , i got my batty`s and charger for the t111 ,the new batts have a slightly different cover on the batts themselves,they will slide into the body of the quad but they won`t line up with the connections . i have just filed a bit off the original batty ,so that it will go into the charger see if that works. not had a chance to finish illuminating the sonic 185 , work keeps rearing its ugly head  . i notice i am up to 399 posts ,what happens at 400  . keep well my friend |

Odd about the batteries....there is always some slight difference from one type to another it seems well very cold ,,,,,extreme winds 40-50 mph gusts, and now freezing rain all through the night some downed trees and tree limbs in the area and ice still covering everything has done little melting today and now they are calling for snow tonight....Brrr.... perhaps at 400 posts you will get another star , maybe ?...not sure  |

I dont go much on the sound of the freezing weather on the way ,they could do with some of it in California to put out the fires ,so sad.I have given up on the quad ,i cant make any headway at all ,it seemed a good idea in theory ,but i had to try it,still not finished the" glowing glider", perhaps i might get a chance over the weekend ,anyway keep well

Hey Chris ,
warmed up some today...ice melting and over night snow was light and melted now
suppose to get near 50 degrees over the weekend
hope it dries up and winds calm down as still windy today around 16-18 mph
hate to hear the quad flying is not doing well
hope you get the lights fixed up and get some video of the glider
will wait and see what the weather brings to see if I can get any flying in
until then...just milling around the house

Hi there Ed, well the illuminated sonic 185 works well,sort of a cross between a flybeam and a night walrus .The thing is its difficult enough trying to film the planes in the daylight, you would think with a 73inch wingspan lit up like a xmas tree ,that the filming of it would be a piece of cake, blimey i think i caught one light bulb on film ,i think its going to take a few attempts, the things we do for a laugh  . chris |

well it is Thanksgiving Day and after a great meal I went out and did a little flying was cold and batteries do not last as long in the cold managed to get several flights in with the Quad made a video of them rolled into one here it is ENJOY www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQpln59xrYg |

Hello Ed , well its like this i have only been back at work since August ,so you can imagine my surprise on Thursday when i received a christmas bonus of £245 . i now have a Hubsan fpv quad its a 501s air x4 ,with gps and return to home, just waiting for the winds to drop away a bit. Perhaps with this i will be able to get the quad up there ,on gps hold ,and use it as a camera platform to film the planes.I have only the fixed monitor on the tranny,no goggles but i might be able to borrow some ,the tranny has a port to accept a cable for goggs .I shall see how it goes first, this is more of a camera quad rather than a racer,but give me time and i will put up a vid.I shall start back up with the planes when weather improves and i get a resupply of flight battys ,mind you xmas is nearly here ,i might be lucky again. chris

Hello Ed ,i have been having a whale of a time with the hubsan 501 fpv, its slightly addictive . I put the "hubs" up this morning at about 100ft on gps hold, then put the tiger moth up ,and did some nice passes and loops and gave it a nice landing.When i went to stop the video recording on the quad, i realized i had`nt pressed the button to start it in the first place ,the batty on the tiggy was low so no chance of a re-flight, i hope to get some dry not too windy conditions over the xmas period.I did take a couple of vids with the quad , one was a bit naughty ,should have known better , i launched at night from my back yard over the estate where i live,this was just a one off ,i gave it return to home but had to take over at the last little bit to stop it landing on the roof ,i shall post the vids over the holidays .I hope you get some flying in over the break ,all the best chris |

Hello Ed ,i have a megga techy question for you.The hubsan has no audio pick up ,this is not in itself any problem ,but i have plans!.Within walking distance from me there is a mill stream and pond ,in a beautiful setting ,i want to capture the sound of the running water with the video.The only way i can see of doing this is to use my cam ,to record the sound with ,then somehow cull the audio from it and put it on the fpv video,of course i could just record it with the cam ,but what sort of a challenge is that. Sorry my brain has just woken up ,of course i can take fpv vid close up to the water and area,then follow it up with the cam ,and splice the two together in movie maker ,if i can but remember how to do it.chris  |

Only issue is how loud the quad is... it could be to loud and drum out the sound of the water that and mounting and ensuring a secure mount You may simply just take the cam record the sound only leave lens dark take the video and place it on you tube ( blank with just sound ) use a You Tube down loader program ( they are free online ) download it and convert the video to a MP3 file ( sound only just like music downloads ) or just find any video with a bubbling water sound and convert it to a MP3 file ( audio only ) then fly the quad get the FPV make the video and use the sound on the MP3 file and up load it like you do any music .... in fact here is the easiest one to use it does not capture video at all just the audio ytmp3.cc/it is YTMp3 converter... you go to you tube for instance and copy the https Address at the top like your own video link a fun fpv flight www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPZfkOsOPu0&t=0syou copy that link place it on the YTMp3 Convert page and hit convert  it then goes to a process takes a couple minutes then you get a screen that has 3 blue click boxes it says Download -Dropbox-Convert next  hit download it will down load to your computer at the bottom of your screen when it is done then hit show in Folder on the tiny screen that appears it will say OPEN-Always open files of this type and Show in Folder Hit Show in folder and your download page will appear with the name of the video click on the name of the video/file when screen appears drag over to your music files and it will be on there so you can use it on your video, like any music you have before Hope that helps sounds complicated but it is not once you see it If I can do it anyone can....lol Merry Christmas Chris |

Thanks for the info Ed ,i shall put this into operation. i did try an air to air vid with my acrowot ,and the 501s. This was looking like one of my better ones, i got my camera platform up about 30 metres ,checked the fpv picture ,nice and clear big field of vision,then a flew the acro and had a bit of trouble with it ,i dont know if the two transmitters maybe we're too close to each other ,anyway on landing i stuffed it into the long grass and took the motor mount off.but when i replayed the vid from the hubsan ,i had recorded one complete half of the field ,and flown in the other  |

LOL....sounds like one of my mishaps...
you will get it once you get use to it
yeah those radios can get messed up if to close
have to be careful does not cause a fail safe and the quad land itself...
can't wait to see more footage
liked those flying in the night...awesome
