Sort of bad news/good news then h? Too windy to fly means plenty of time to fix the heli. ;-)
Yesterday Forecast 8 mph wind & warm. Reality about 20 mph and gusting much more and bloody cold! Still, got four flights in and enjoyed the tricky landings in the wind.

Actually got to fly today for the first time since the aileron servo died. Flew 3 batteries while the wind was at its lowest and then had to return home without flying the Bonanza when the weather defeated me - AGAIN.
Currently gusting 35mph, but the forecast looks better for the weekend. Fingers crossed.

Yes Good news....replaced Motors in my X2 Heli today. Took a little less than 30 minutes ( was not as bad as i had thought )
As this Heli has Brushed motors and a metal shield and another shield over that, they tend to hold heat. Something that is Not good for these motors.( Why i figure they have a short life )
So...my brainstorm was to make cut outs on the canopy, to allow air into that area.I did that and covered it with a mesh screen.
Ran 3 batteries through it, flew great in the wind and also after the flights the Motors were barely warm. Seems that helped the heat issue, and I hope it makes them last longer.
Now if the winds would just stop blowing enough for me to fly the Cub and others, that would be nice
Also have a quad ready, but have to do some reprogramming, as every time I throttle up, it wanted to flip over. Will have to figure it out as well.
With all the wind, seems my yard is where I have to fly. Great place for my Heli and hopefully this quad.
Until these windy days are over anyway.
Hope they cease for everyone soon.
Edit : Why can I fly in my yard and not the flying field ?
Tree's...they block allot of wind and it is not as open...to small for planes, but perfect for a Heli and Quad Just so you know.

Fabulous day's flying at the club field yesterday, probably the best ever, a good breeze to make it fun, warm sunshine, good company, what more could be asked for. Went through 12 batteries worth, club's solar powered charger came into it's own, only one rough landing but damage free. Now flying flat out a lot of the time and doing rolls and loops and starting to get the hang of knife edging. Upside down next I suppose.

Took SportCub out least night. Ran four batteries through her in the late evening sun.
Lovely.
Was at a field I don't usually use, because its quite a small area surrounded by trees meaning take offs and landings are short and tricky. After a couple of aborted practice approaches, I was diving over the trees with the flaps down like a proper bush pilot (hahaha) and having a whale of a time.
I still won't use this site often though, others nearby are better.

I FINALLY Got in the air as well.
Gave the Sport Cub S a try ( it was still windy, it does not like wind ) needs some adjustments...all it wanted to do was Hover nose up...and in every mode. Really odd. Flew it about, but it really needs some adjustments bad ( I will figure it out somehow.)
Got the Super Cub up...ran 3 batts through it....still harsh landings..small fields are hard to come down in, it has such a long glide slop....I mowed several paths for run off, good thing i did..I needed them every landing. No Nose over's tho....did land a in the tall grass once.
First take off I forgot to put the rubber bands on the wing...that was an exciting few minutes I must say...and a grass flop landing ( Thank God for tall grass )
All other flights were Great...been awhile since I got to fly the Cub, It was exciting and a Joy.
Did some speed runs with my X-2 Heli....it is really fast.
Then I got to fly the Champ at dark...love this little plane...and LED's make it even better.
Had a Great evening.....Finally.
got some battery time questions ( mind blank for some reason, forgot how to figure it out ) these things happen to me sometimes )
Will ask over on the battery thread.
Glad you had a great time Sham.

That's really good sham and hghost I'm very happy for you both, about time there was some flying weather. I've not been able to fly since last happy report due to ............. yes, wind!

I just placed an order for a Sport Cub. It should be at the house by the time I leave the rig on Wednesday. We should have flying weather again by next weekend. I have floats for the pond if the field is still too wet.
I'm pretty exicted about it too!

Good for you. The SportCub is an awesome aircraft. If I ever damage mine, I'll be buying another straight away. It just does everything well and flies so nicely. Let us know what you think

Got 4 flights in today, very windy, very gusty, gave up after the fourth as gusts got too much. Wind was around 20mph but gusts at least 30mph. Better safe than sorry. Great news pasquale about the Sport Cub which is my favourite model, I always start with it to exercise my thumbs. :-)

So - today, I have a day off work. Woke this morning to cloudless, and windless skies
Got the batteries on charge as soon as the kids were safely thrown at the school, and got the planes out for checks while they were charging... No supercub, I couldn't wait for more batteries to charge - really wanted to fly the Bonanza.
Off to the field I go, get the SportCub prepped and aimed for the sky. Hmm... breezier than it was a few minutes ago... wow, where did those black clouds come from? And that gale (might be a slight exaggeration, but way too windy to fly)?
So, now I sit at home awaiting the charger to put the batteries back to storage - barely managed 3 minutes. At least the planes are in one piece I guess.
If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

Better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than to be in the air wishing you were on the ground.
Sport Cub is here. Maiden will be this weekend.

Nice one. I hope to get some air time this weekend too, forecast is favourable - storms due tomorrow but should clear for the weekend.
Hope you like the Sportcub as much as I do.
