I cut out a place for the lipo's to go in the battery box. I also taped it up using strapping tape (for possible future meetings with the ground) for more ridgidness. Also epoxied in a piece of cf on the back of the wing/fuse. Helps keep thing in order.

I maidened it today. I did not like the set up so far. It seemed under power. I need to go back to the drawing board and do some math quick.

So with the 10x6 it does pretty good eh? How is the vertical with it? What prop did you use (apc?).

Hey Mr. M: GWS 10x6,Electrifly 25A ESC,Thunder Power 2100ma LIPO and watch, out. This one is wheels up in <8ft.,climbs out at better than 60 deg. with no slowin' down.We have an E-flite 480 proto we're testing, and it's completely overkill!!!3/4 throttle torque rolls it no matter how you change the thrust line configs. Wait till you see the Uber Tri-Motor,LOL

Sounds good. I have a APC 10x7 on there now. I just broke the rudder while trying to get the tail wheel assy off. I have to wait until tomorrow to get a new one. LHS not open on mondays. I just got 5 1200mah lipo's for it 20C-30C burst. They seem to work greak. I am still waiting on my new Watts up meter to arrive. I can't wait to dial these in better.

Hey Mr.M.: Good luck,it should dial in just fine. We'd been using APC props, but for the price and performance, the GWS's seemto be doing fine with the smaller brushless protos we've done.

Hey Paul: Try a Himax 2808-0980 with a GWS 10x6 prop. It is one of the best combos we tested and we are going to market this package first.

Hi Bill. Did you get anything sorted out with the torque problem with the 480?
If it's going to be a problem then i will go with your suggestion.

Hi Paul: We wound up with 6 deg right ,5 deg. down, which stabalizes the flight profile, but looks like hell with the cowl. It it a severely noticeable angle, kinda makes it look pre- crashed!LOL Here's a shot of the Himax set up

Hi Paul:The blue strap comes with the Himax, the stick is an E-flite product, glass filled. The zip-ties are holding addition wieght you need to balance the bird. The original motor set with gear box is apx.45 g. The Himax is about 32g. , so you need some extra nose weight.

I bent the shaft on my 450 today in a very high speed crash. Broke the firewall.....thats it other than the prop and cowl. Was flying in 20mph wind today and was going into the wind about 20 feet off the ground at about 15 mph...I did a no no! I pulled back too much on the elev. and she went over so fast I didn't even see it! The SC left my view and it never got over 100 feet from me....lol. I was on pack 3 when I finally crashed it. I hovered it over my shanty for about 5 minutes with no issue what so ever. It was the most fun I had so far with my SC. I caught 3 walleye and 1 burbot after the crash.
