well I had finished putting my switch back together, took her out for the maiden flite, it was going smoothly fly straght and level hands off control, when a tree jump out and bit my plane (hehe) I said to my self, self you're not going to let this tree have the last laugh?
No I said, so I went to the trunk of my car, got out my bow and arrow and string, the tree started shaking with fear, to late for you I said. Tide the string on the arrow took aim and shot! snag the branch, and shook the plane out, and got the arrow back too. whos laughing now!!!

You were lucky, Robin Hood! A very, very tall tree reached up and grabbed my SC this afternoon. She is well and truly wedged in some extremely strong branches. It would take a fireman's ladder or a trained monkey to retrieve her. Anyone in the UK got a trained monkey, please?

OK, I'll expect you tomorrow. I'll repay your fuel costs for driving south, plus a banana or two if you succeed. That's how desperate I am.

Anyone in the UK got a trained monkey, please? I'm sure that Zimports can get you one at a price. Have you got any fishing kit? A reasonable weight and a decent cast may get you closer than you think.

Unfortunately, there is no way any fisherman is going to lob a line up there. I fear I am going have to wait for some high winds and hope that does the trick.

Arborists use a really large slingshot to put a throwline with a beanbag on the end well over 100 feet into a tree. I've used one to retrieve a plane with not a great deal of damage. Here is the device: www.sherrilltree.com/Professional-Gear/BIGshotIf you know any arborists or tree surgeons, a couple of beers might resolve the problem. I believe it is also used by some rescue services. (Even if they don't have this tool, arborists are great at throwing weighted lines into very tall trees. It's definitely a skill of the trade. Very impressive to watch.) Regards, -Peter

Wow, that BigShot line launcher looks a really serious piece of kit! I've never seen anything like it over here. I would imagine that there is much more call for it in your neck of the woods (no pun intended than in my overcrowded, largely urbanised part of southern England. However, it's food for thought and I could see what our local tree surgeons have to say about getting a line up there - although in my pessimism I can imagine them wanting megabucks, not just a couple of beers, to do the job! Sincere thanks for pointing me towards this, Peter.

Not to put a damper on things, but I lost a depron A-10 in very high trees a while back ( Including a quite expensive esc, motor, 2200 lipo and 3 servos.) I waited for the high winds, and once happened, lost everything, as the winds had shoved it either A) into the river or b) into the hands of someone walking their dog and decided to bin it or ebay it..dunno which. Best of luck renard, and I do hope you get it back.
