i had a SECOND pair of SC wings in my hangar they were about 3 years old and I had only used them once, I took them out for a flight and guess what, they snapped I repaired them with electrical tape, packing tape and that book covering sticky stuff.

Nev, not a good idea mate. They need glueing properly with hot glue/ epoxy/ CA (superglue). Then tape and bind them. Tape on it's own will give way, usually at 200 ft, just coming out of a dive.

how the heck did you snap them? doing loops? inverts? As Toff said, glue is your best friend. CA + activator then tape them for reinforcement. your wing will be stronger than original. Careful with the CA/activator. They're potent. My Super Cub is a flying adverstisement for eFlite CA glue. hehehhe

I snapped them comming in to land, a gust of wing caught the plan and it cartwheeled to a stop

sad....but there you go. Cartwheels are hard on the frame. Usually the tail breaks off.

My Tail on my cub has been broken many times but Packing/Fiber Tape always mends it!

could it be because of the extra tension caused by your wing struts as i mentioned before in your other thread??

What? You're not suppose to cartwheel when you land? This is new to me. I have the cartwheel landing down to a science! Man! Now, I have to change my style. hehhehehe Ahh, I'm not impressed! When my cub comes down, I do a cartwheel, Whilst holding the TX! Now that's fancy landing! ;D
