I intend to buy a HZ Super Cub with floats as soon as I feel proficient on the simulator. I am wondering if it is better to get the $199.99 package which includes the transmitter or buy the plane and transmitter separately. If I purchased separately what units would you suggest?
Thanks

A Basic/analogue/single memory TX will do......but.....if you stay with the sport it will be dumped or relegated to buddy box status.
Get a minimum of a 6-ch, 10 model memory, computer controlled TX to avoid the upgrade path, at least for a good while. The popularity champ of that category right now is the DX6i.

The old DX6i DSM2 is dropping in price what with the release of the DX7s and the new firmware DX6i with DSMX.... John I find this quite surprising as there can't be that many people who'll fly at locations where the band is saturated. Maybe it's just a case of people wanting the next thing.

I was reffering more to the fact that retailers are dropping the price of the DSM2 handsets to make room for the new DSMX versions. John

DSM2 uses two channels, DSMX channel hops. (At least that's my understanding)

So DSMX is basically futaba's FASST by another name?

From what I can tell, yes, just slightly more affordable as well as supposedly backward compatible with dsm2.
