He built it out of Dow blue foam, fiberglass, balsa and gut instinct. lol It has a 2000-something KV turnigy motor, a 80 amp ESC and 2 2500 4S 30C Lipos in parallel. lol. It was a rocket. Best part? He doesn't fly RC. I'm his test pilot. That's me flying it: Sorry for the quality, it was shot with an iPhone. Towards the end of the video, I tried to take it as high as I could see (and I did). When coming down, I pushed full throttle and hit approximately 100 MPH (I think a bit more like 120) and, as I pulled up to level, a control horn came off the tailevon, sending the plane into a high-G spiral that shot the hatch off and through the prop. The plane hit the ground softly and with minor damage. We'll be flying it again soon and get better video of it

Nice one Erwin, I do like scratch builds as it's not a case of pouring money away. Now you need to get your friend to fit thrust vectoring!

Just saw nwillitts comment bump this thread. Nice work Erwin to the pair of you, great build and flying skills!
I cant help thinking an ejector seat type contraption with an "Action Man" parachute would save alot of tears in the field...It must be possible they make those pointless (IMO only) bomb drop modules, surely cant be that diff?
Just a continuing thought.

The only photo I have of it is this one, before the covering was finished: We took so many pictures the day of the maiden but my friend has yet to upload them or give me copies.

Oh, he's a special one... if I sow him your comment, HE WILL put TV on it just for the challenge. Also, he spent quite some time on this jet. Lots of fiberglass, custom fiberglass motor mount, two airframes scrapped and started-over.... he's just not happy until he's happy... I was like 'just put a freaking motor on it and lets go fly it already!' and he kept saying 'yeah yeah, I'll be done this wekk...' hahaha It was fun. I'd like to gather up the time and effort to build myself a scale Eurofighter Typhoon out of bluecor, flanfold and depron.
