If you get bummed out by every apparently inflated claim in THIS business you just aren't going to be happy at all. If crashing also bums you out, well, everyone crashes, no matter how good they get.

its to help u not crash. not totally prevent it. ive had problems with my cub twice and i politely called horizon and explained the problems and they sent me free replacement parts both times. they got a big thumbs up from me :/

Well, stay pissed off if it suits you. Horizon doesn't really care. They don't acknowledge, and will likely not acknowledge problems with their products. The Cub has had the exact same flaws for as long as there has been a Cub. They also seldom actually fix them. They absolutely have to know about each and every one of them. They do a remarkable job on making customers happy with band-aides after the fact. It's just the way they do business. Don't want to deal with them, fine. Lots of other companies to deal with.
Strongly suggest you stay FAR away from Banana Hobby. You'll go ape over those guys. ALL their planes are CRASH RESISTANT, and can be flow by BEGINNER TO EXPERT......blah, blah, blah... Makes ACT look like a first graders attempt at false advertising. Folks still buy there, in droves. Hard to beat the bargain hunters back.

not getting bummed I've crashed Helli's its part of the hobby. LOL not crying just pissed you all can't tell me you would not get pissed if what happened to me happened to you sorry but that's hard to believe. flying a 150ft no wind no over cast flying level over dark ground and as soon as you flip the switch the plane ended up crashing and there is nothing you could do. LOL on trying to glue, it just because you guys had good service from H H does not mean everyone does. I have a right to have my opinions on H H and you all have yours. I thought we are all on here to help each other with problems and not tell people not to cry about it or stay pissed or who cares or whatever. WTF LOL as far as banana hobby yeah there a big joke. anyway not being a smart ass but you all have a good one and happy flying

Have to agree with you on this... crashing is inevitable. I remind myself that when (not if) I crash, to cut the throttle and make the best of it. Gotta admit that repairing the Cub is part of the fun for me. If I get so skilled on the Cub that I never crash, then it's time for a more advanced plane.

Hi - Brand new member here. Thanks for the video, I just got my Super Cub and this will be very helpful prior to my first crash! One question, what is the advantage of being able to slide the lipo in vertically? Thanks, and keep on posting great videos.

two advantages one is that the lipo that comes with the plane does not fit in the battery box without having to bend the wires and damage the battery. This can cause a lipo fire.
The second reason is that it allows you to put bigger batteries in there.

Reporting back.
My cub continues to take a licking and keep on ticking, thanks to making (almost) all the mods suggested. The strips of fiberglass reinforced tape all around the main wing edges (followed by packing tape) have been particularly useful. Also wrapping the cowl in white duct tape inside and out was a very good thing.
Crashed head on into a small tree today (dumb) and all I had to do was replace the propeller. Flying again in minutes.
The battery box mod makes life easier.
ps: Disconnected the ACT right after unpacking and have never missed it.

Bloodboughtchad,
Great video!! I am intending to purchase a SuperCub once I get comfortable on the simulator. Your video will tame the learning curve.
During the video you mentioned 2 links that you intended to put below, but I cannot find them.
Thanks.

I too appreciate all the encouragement and caveats. I watched your video and via the links to NEcubflyer, made all the mods to my Super Cub LP (BNF) Got the Dave Brown wheels yesterday, only have to install them and balance the plane before her maiden flight. I'm waiting for the perfect day.... I have a Hobbyzone Champ and one I bought for my grandson, his flys well, mine crashes everytime -- now ready for wing #4 ! Also have a Parkzone Ultra micro P-51 I got from my son for my birthday... that plane is also still a virgin. ANNNNNNDDD one I'm really looking forward to getting out of the closet and assembling is the Airfield Sky Trainer v4 with lights & flaps... but first I must learn to fly and land the Super Cub with confidence........ sorry about yapping... I'm an old man!

....... sorry about yapping... I'm an old man! Nah, you're just a youngster compared to some of we genuine geriatrics! Funny how your plane "crashes every time". Mine has the same disease. So how come they fly so much better when our grandsons take control? The best thing I ever did was to find a kind, experienced flyer to hold my ancient hand. His guidance and advice were invaluable. Good luck with the flying. It would be great if you (and everyone else) could amend your Profile to show your Location (where you live).
