;DMy Cub nears completion, I posted the pics on another post but have moved them here now, considering I had a brain hemorrhage and a stroke on the 13th of December ending up 4/5 paralyzed down my right side, (I'm only 45 years old!) I don't think I have done a bad Job, now I have to fly her again which I have not done since the 4th of October, weathers crap here, I have flown on an RC flight sim since OK, so she should be no problem, not the same can be said for me ;D, but the cause of the hemorrhage/stroke has been identified as sodium, which when I removed it from my diet, caused my blood pressure to return completely to normal and I'm coming off the medication. , full recovery expected in about a year
She is fitted out with XYH35-30 1100kv 15A Brushless Outrunner from Giant Cod, 40 amp esc, reason for this is I want to put on a slightly bigger motor in the future, the engine is mounted on the customrcparts.com dedicated Cub engine mount, the prop is an APC9x6e prop I think, the radio gear has been changed for a spektrum AR6100e, and I'm using 6 Turnigy TG9e micro servos to power the control surfaces.
The wing has been straightened, carbon added for strength and then covered in solarfilm after the control surfaces had been cut out, the fuselage got the same covering treatment but the tail and nose cone have been sprayed. the firewall was attached by first gluing 40mm dowels into the foam front of the FUS and then screwing the firewall into the dowels, a much better setup than the stock cub firewall which is glued on with silicone mastic!!!!!
she is weighing in at 29oz with 2200mAh battery at the mo with the wheels in the pictures, but these are for show the 2.5 inch I've been using are 2 oz lighter, so she is looking at being 27oz.
Anyone who has a stock Cub is advised to check the firewall regularly to make sure its not coming loose, a few nose in's on landing can loosen it easily!
