Apologies if this has been posted before, but I have only just come across it. As soon as I have mastered the SC, I think I will buy one of these. Shouldn't be too different to control . . . www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTHWBSluUjU&feature=related(Seriously, how the heck does he know where it is, when to turn etc. ?)

Yea...right..hmm..that is STUPID fast. Good question. How do you determine when to turn? Math? Time vs. speed= uhh turn? Jeez, check out that take off! Like a blistering missle.

Seriously, how the heck does he know where it is, when to turn etc. ? Years of experience and refined skill. That, and the fact he has no choice but to JUST KNOW where his $5000 model is. lol If I were are the controls of such a model, no matter how experienced and talented I would be, I would be scared to death flying it, as he is, I'm sure.

Am I wrong with this statement: It appears most of the weight is in the tail and the jet airframe has about zip for gliding characteristics so he must land at a very, very high airspeed to keep from falling out of the sky. ?
If so, even if I had the skills to fly it, how many times would I soil me' britches before I had to nerve to land it? Many, many times.

Not really if you look closely you will see he has an earpiece in, with which he is in constant contact with Air traffic control. Hes a good pilot, when given clearance he knows his approach speed. ;D

John, Renard and other UK southerners, in case you've not yet heard, take a look at: www.blackbushemodelairshow.co.uk/I went in 2009, blowy as hell yet saw some outstanding models fly (the A10 and the pair of red arrows on the front page as examples). Well worth a visit, bargains to be had from the stalls (I got my TSII there from Robotbirds). Also saw the fastest electric powered model I've ever seen, an EDF Cat running on 12 (or was it 15??)S lipos. MENTAL! See you there!

Thanks for the tip.
It's not far up the M3 from me, so I hope to be there.
Obviously you won't have nearly so far to travel!

i saw a guy with one of those jets when i was little(r). the guy litterally flew the plane in a U shape, going straigt up, turning around, and comming back down, leveling out, flying a length of about a football field, and than pulling right back up to turn around again. i'd rather take this one, because you can actually fly it, not just steer it. it's also electric (96 5000MAH li-po batteries!), with subwoofers for audio of the B-50's actual engines, so it sounds like the real thing. it was in popular science. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FxID9v2gf4
