New Cam

I , cant remember if I mentioned it, but I bought a new compact camera a cpl of months ago.

I got a Panasonic Lumix DMC LX5.

I love this camera because from a professional point of view it shoots the 35mm equiv of 24mm @ f2.0 YES THATS RIGHT FOLKS, 24mm @ F2.0 .

Also its main advantage over its predecessor the LX3 (there was no 4) which my gf has, is that you can zoom whilst videoing.....Watch this space for new flight vids (TPV)comin to a video sharing site near you!

So what lens did you get Nick? (gotcha from flying thread now)

That does look good John. Have you any shots that we can take a peek at? The boys on here have yet to experience your impressive capabilities.

I'm having some fun with the new lens. Although it's not nice and wide (the other option I considered was the 50-200 SWD f2.8 but that's at least £800 which is a bit tasty for my limited use) I still get reasonable images even in the current crap light we seem to have had for the last month or so. The GF got me a photo day experience at the Owl Sanctuary for my birthday which I'll do in the spring, I'm hoping to get some nice pictures from that with worthwhile subject matter.

I'm going to like this thread. I'm the type who puts the camera in auto and shoot. I hope to pick up some tips from you guys on the manual side.

Sorry chaps for the delay in replying to your piccy request...... I should get lots of flying field ones this year now I have the compact..As for old stuff, I have nothing online anymore and need to undertake the huuuuuuuge proccess of going throu my work for a new website I am putting up....Maybe a few months. Sorry chaps.
