Unfortunately I haven't. It was a harsh winter here this year, and the spring has been windy. I haven't forgotten though!

OK, so here is my review of the "Foam-Tac" powerful foam glue.
I like it! I have a mini-super cub that I converted to a brushless setup last fall. Unfortunately I did not get to test the setup, before deciding to redesign my setup. (found a better motor mount) Here is where the glue comes in. When I put the 1st motor mount in, I had to "alter" the firewall due to the motor mount already having the thrust angle. The 2nd motor mount did NOT have the thrust angle, and relied on the firewall's thrust angle. So I had to pull out and replace the firewall. This caused a bit of damage to the nose of the plane. pieces of foam "chunked" off. So I said lets put this stuff to the test.
1st This glue dries quickly! like starts to set while I was applying it, so there's no time to mess around. Which I think is a good thing! Kinda strange though, you end up with "strings" of glue as I wiped it around and got it in where I wanted it. Kinda what I would imagine Spiderman's webs to be like.
2nd After the 24 hours to achieve "maximum bond" it is like a hard rubbery texture. It feels like it has "melded" with the foam. I like that. It has the rubbery texture that allows give, but won't break off. I have tried to use my fingernail to pull the edge off the foam, and can't do it.
3rd The bottle says "Dries Clear". I wouldn't say clear. the glue itself is a little milky (barely) and it dries like that. Plus there are a ton of air bubbles in it when it's dry. Not a big deal for me, but maybe for someone else. So a little bit milky with tiny little bubbles.
All in all, as I said, I like it! FULL DISCLAIMER: I am a newbie. I have not tried very many foam glue products. Prior to this my choice was a 2 part clear epoxy (dried brownish) that was hard and felt separate to the plane. The thing I like most about this glue is that it feels like it is part of the plane. (hence the "melds" earlier) and has a hard rubbery give to it. The true tests will be how it survives my many crashes that I am no doubt about to inflict on it. I will update with more info if it does not hold up.

Here is pre-mounting of the new firewall. Note the gaping chunks out of the foam, especially on the corners. And here is the new firewall installed with the Foam-Tac glue. Notice the many little bubbles.

btw, the reason of the re-design is the old motor mount was to big and bulky for the nose cone to fit and I had to use a "cut and trimmed" plastic water bottle as a nose cone, and I am sure the thrust angles were all wrong. With the new motor mount, I can use the stock nose cone, and hopefully everything will work fine.

So how did it fly mebillica? I think you got the air bubbles because you were squeazing the heck out of the bottle, does that sound like what you did? If you just squeeze gently & let it flow, you should have few to no bubbles in it. I work directly with Beacon on this product; and in fact, I'm working with them now to update the product packaging: better instructions, actual photos, etc. Foam-Tac is still a really great selling item, and I've been able to get the shipping down to $2.99. You can order up to 4 bottles & still pay only $2.99 for shipping. Even if you're only ordering one bottle, it still comes out to less than a bottle of decent CA does and lasts far longer (and does a better job). Once you factor in the shipping, nobody can beat my price. I've seen others selling it for a few cents less, but they are more than making up for it with their shipping charges. I always have FRESH stock on this product, I order it by the gross every 2~3 months once I'm down to 24 bottles in inventory. It only takes me a day to receive it, but I've had mass orders come in all at onece in the past. I don't ever want to be without any stock... it's my best seller! www.filadelfosrc.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=42:supplies&id=146:foamtacBill

Handbags out! I am not a happy bunny! I'm sure he appriciates the advertising, but the sarcasm isn't needed. 'Contributing member of this community Not just someone who pops in once in awhile to try and sell us something.' Have you actually read his posts? His life has turned to crap, and he's trying to make a go of a business that could help people that are interested in the same hobby he is. AND, his deans connectors are FAR cheaper than anyone elses on ebay, as is quite a bit of his stuff (quadcopter, anyone?) If you want deans, PM him, I bet you'll be gobsmacked by how little they cost! I'm not for or against anyone on this site, but this petty sniping is irritating and unneeded. Ebays rules are pretty clear - 'buyer beware!', but as far as I can see, John's an honest and reputable seller, so please...... just leave it.

Cheers anyway, and I trust you meant "Manbags"!? ;D

Well I have to say, I am impressed with this Foam Tac glue. Again I am very much a newbie and their might be better stuff out there. I only know what I know, and can only review what I've tested. I busted the tail off my mini cub, and this stuff fixed it right up. As good as new! Thanks again!

Hello everyone, I haven't been here for quite some time, and I see that this thread has died I'd like to clear up a few things: I don't know if toff was talking about John or mixing up the two of us because our stories are quite similar... I worked for the Associated Press for several years, before getting laid-off in December 2009 (1 week before Christmas!). After not finding work, being extremely poor, and being extremely bored, I decided to see if I could make any money from my hobby & started up Filadelfos RC as an eBay store. I began buying bulk quantities of popular & inexpensive but good quality items (HXT900 servos for example) and re-selling them on eBay. I figured that people would be willing to pay a premium to get these items faster from a US based seller, and having the protections of eBay & PayPal instead of the risks of dealing with a questionable entity out of China. I was correct, and began making a small profit. I then added Foam-Tac to the lineup. I expanded into re-selling Banana Hobby mini EDF kits based on the same reasons. This worked well until one order of 12 F-16s arrived... They dumped the kits out of the boxes and into a big plastic bag & shipped it in 1 giant box! How was I supposed to re-sell product that didn't have any packaging?! I stopped dealing with Banana after that happened & they refused to do anything about it. My next step was to start up a website, teaching myself how as I went. I also went 'legit' and got a reseller license & Federal TaxID. This allowed me to begin purchasing from US Distributors. Then I discovered Joomla!, and now my website looks pretty professional. I continue to expand, but I do less & less with R/C (it's too competitive, and I still can't get products from Great Planes or Horizon because I'm 'just an e-tailer') and more diecast & collectibles. I still sell a fair amount of Foam-Tac & GWS kits though. As for why I don't post here a whole lot: Gohmer doesn't seem to understand all of the work that is involved in running a 1-person online retail site: I do ALL of the packing/shipping, sales, advertising, phones/emails, website design, bookkeeping, photography, inventory, etc. etc... it's A LOT of work for 1 person. Not to mention that as I said much earlier in the thread, my mother was in critical condition and nearly died. Also, Hurricane Sandy & the Nor'Easter that hit the following week put me out of commission for nearly a month (NOVEMBER no less, the busiest time for a retailer), and I'm STILL recovering from that. Regarding John at ZiMports... he actually gets Foam-Tac from ME. I sell it to him at 25ยข over my cost, just to get the product over to his neck of the woods. It's the shipping that's killer. John is a good guy, in a similar situation to mine, and we try to help each other out as best we can, when we can. Anyway, that's the story in a nutshell. For some reason Gohmer has made it his personal mission to follow me around on various forums harassing me. I have absolutely no idea why, and don't know what I possibly could have done to offend him... such is life, I guess. Bill www.frchobby.com
