Ya I know. The prop is close to the ground and it's the break in prop. The proper prop is bigger and just barely clears the ground. So I put some Dubro 4" wheels on and ditched the wheel spits. Has lots of clearance now.

Took the 1/4 scale Yak for a flight the other day. Turns out the guy who built it didn't glue the rudder in properly. Needless to say the rudder ripped out at about 100ft up. The rudder stayed hooked to the plane via the pull/pull cables. At one point it was doing the nicest flat spin I have ever done. To bad I wasn't in control of it lol. Here is what is left of it. So I picked up all the pieces and took it home check out the damage. Everything internal was fine except for my temp sensor went MIA. I figured all in all it wasn't that bad seeing as I payed less than what the internals are worth. So PM Hobbycraft was having a one day Easter sale where you pick an Easter egg and it has a tag that tells you what % you get off you entire purchase. I got 15% off my new Aero-Works Extra 300 35cc. It is built as far as I can go on it till the DLE55 engine shows up. And here she is!

Couple of updates on the hangar. Put some floats on the Piper Cub and took it to the lake for the day. And I got the Extra 300 finished and maidened. Gotta say that I did a superb job on the build. And man is she a rocket.

It is a balsa kit. They call it the "quick build" series…but I still ended up putting 10+ hours building it. Which is pretty quick compared to some airframes. Yes it can be converted to elec. But anything can be converted. I have many electrics. Never had a gas plane till a few months ago. The first time I spun that prop and the sound of the two stroke exhaust filled my ears. With each rev of the throttle my smile got bigger and bigger. I guess what I'm trying to say is…gas engines rock! I like the electrics but nothing tickles the senses like a gasser.
