Hi there guys and gals Abit about me 20years old, from swansea and camberly(surry) in the uk.I have owed my cub for about 1year- 18month... I'm very much a novice to rc flying. I ve attemped to fly my cub about 4times for about 30seconds every time crash landing and braking it everytime.so I gave it up as a bad job as I spend more money then fun I get out of it ... but now I've ordered the parts to fix it and attempt it again as I have two petrol planes one complete working order but never started and one waiting for an engine to be fitted.I'm not a member of any clubs as I've never been serous about rc flying. As i thorght of it as a bit of fun to pass the time on a Sunday morning but now have built a petrol plane and never started it I geuss its time to learn how to fly and join a club.I must say this is a very user freindly site and has very handy threads I hope to be of some help in the near future....

Welcome Farmer. I built a nitro many moons ago. Never flew it. 15 years later I bought the SC with the intent to learn to fly rc. I'm still a newb myself. Trust me, once (it will happen) you find that "balance" of the variables, you will be hooked. Great plane and site. Share your challenges, SCC offers a wealth of experience.

Thanks for the warm welcome . Is there a place I can go or can I buy a flight simulator. I didn't think of that jumped in the deep end .

Do a web search for FMS (you may have to add flight or sim or somethign similar to narrow down the hits). It's a freebee and there are a couple of SC models that people have added (stock pre-lipo and 4 channel for example) that you can download and use to play with. If you've got a Specktrum type radio, you can hook it up to your PC with a little effort and a 3.5mm male to male mono cable. You can probably hook up Futaba radios too, I just don't have one so haven't tried.

If you have a compatible radio, FMS is free (or you can buy a RC controller along with it from NitroPlanes.com). I have the controller so I bought a much better sim, ClearView for $39.95.

Hello farmer, I have been flying the FMS. I recommend ordering E-Sky USB controller. It looks and handles like a 4Ch radio. FMS is packaged with the controller. You can download flight models for free and the Super Cub LP is one of them. FMS is not the best sim but it will help the eye hand coordination for pattern work, landings and touch & goes. You can also switch from ground view to a view behind the plane. Do a search for Flight Model Simulator and you can find the cub at gunnerson.homestead.com/files/fms_models.htm . John
