Hi guys, I'm now about to upgrade my setup with a brand new big twinstar by multiplex. As I've been travelling to french polynesia to take underwater photograph (my site : http://www.imagebleue.com) I decided to build a ATR 42 replica from air tahiti , the company that took me in islands such as Tahiti Bora Bora or Rangiroa ... I put two Robbe BL on it, a 4000 mAh lipo and a Futaba setup. Should fly great !! All the deco is home made. Let me know what you think about it and here the real plane :

Nice one Froggy that's a distinctive colour scheme. I have a Twinstar although it is only done in the MPX colour scheme. It's a lovely flyer, very graceful, and can haul a lot of weight around if you ever want a video/photo/FPV platform. I see you mounted your motors on the outside of the mounts installed in the stock way. Some reverse the mount in the nacelle so that the motor has a bit of protection from the nacelles. Others have done as you without issue, so either way seems fine. You can see how mine are mounted here where I'm showing off my landing gear mod. I've yet to maiden it since adding the U/C, and I've just finished building a MPX Gemini that's in need of a flight. ;D A flying buddy has his birthday today, and the present his wife has got him is a TSII (I did the purchasing to ensure he gets the right stuff), so I'm expecting a call today to help him with the build.

very nice !!! but where did you put the controllers ? mines take place where the old motors where. vey nice landing gear !! I love the contreol of your front wheel !! can you still land and take off from grass ? I'm a bit afraid of it by now , it's so huge ciomparing to my SC , I heard it was a really easy plane to fly ? do you think so too ? regards from a snowy france

I put the ESC's in the fuse, one either side under the wing, still enough room to put 2 x 2250 3S packs in. I've yet to try it with the U/C, it might just rip straight off! It is a bit less forgiving than the SC (or should that be responsive?), but is nice and relaxing to fly. Just do nice graceful circuits to start with and you soon get the feel of it. Be aware that when landing, it glides for a loooong way. First flight I put it down about 50 yrds further away than I wanted to due to this.
