Hey guys I recently ordered this amazingly cheap 2.4 Ghz tx rx combo from Hobby King for around 50 bucks shipped. I received it today and man I am really impressed with the build of this radio equipment. It is perfect for a super cub and just about any park flyer. The pic from thier site makes the unit look cheap but now that I have it in my hand it is pretty beefy and built well to be an inexpensive 2.4Ghz tx tx. I am awaiting my ESC to finish my conversion and I will keep everyone posted on this Radio but for now seems really good... especially since we have bought super cubs which we probly purchased for their inexpensive price this radio is not expensive.... Here is a pic:

Killioughtta has one. He seems to be very happy with his purchase.
He should chime in shortly...
You won't find a better 2.4ghz radio for the price, that's for sure!

'Tis indeed a cheap way of getting on the 2.4Ghz bandwagon, however I have to dis-agree with your last statement Dillz. For UK flyers there is another, cheaper option.

That sure looks like the same TX with a different sticker set on it.

I got the 6 channel, just for the programmability. I haven't flown it much, but as for weight and feel it is comparable to my DX5E. The only issue Ii had was getting the interface cable and software to work.
It also works with my FMS cable for sim time.

Have you found that the last 10-20% of the stick travel does nothing? The one (and it's 6 channel version) I posted has been observed to do that. There is a mod that can be done if this is the case, check the sites forum, several different options including adding a high/low rate switch.

Ok guys I received my esc today and I can now play with my 2.4 ghz trans and rc from hobby king. I hooked up the bind cable to the bat channel on the receiver and esc battery to another channel did the whole bind process. After finishing the bind I moved the esc bat. to the battery port on the receiver and It does not function. So i hooked it back up to the channel i used when doing the bind and it works fine... weird why do they label a certain channel battery??? if you dont use that actual channel for the battery?

Are you using the ESC to supply power to the Rx (BEC)?? If so, you should connect that to the Throttle connector. The Battery connector is for using a battery to power the Rx and servos only with the motor/ESC having it's own battery pack.

I got it figured out ... I need to leave the ESC/motor/battery hooked up to the channel that is for the throttle on receiver and since the battery runs through the esc to give power to the receiver I dont need to hook anything up to the spot labeled battery on the receiver. The only reason to use the battery channel input is when your only use servos without and esc etc.... does this sound right??

Remember there are planes that don't use electricity-call gas/nitro. They still need power for the non-motor electrics. It's called a receiver battery and that's what it's for. It can also be used for larger planes that use batteries too big for a built in BEC on the ESC.
And yes, you can just hook things up on the bench to center servos and the like without an ESC + battery attached for power

I am very happy with my T6A (the same one but 6 channels) and it performs better than I would like. In the air and ease of set up, programmability, options, and even quality of construction. Mine came with aluminum sticks, unlike the 4 channel version. A much better buy for about $5 USD more. I am in the process of adding ailerons to my wing. In the near future I will be adding flaps and upgrading the ESC to 40 amps. Great TX and don't forget: each new RX is only $13 + shipping! you can't beat that!

ACTUALLY, ging, the T6A, is much better. This GC Tx is not computer programmable. It only has servo-reversing switches as seen on the bottom-right. So, no model memory, no mixing, no throw control; not worth it. AND not 6 channels

I did'nt really want the whole programability I just needed a cheap 4-channel setup for my cub so i could go brushless and add ailerons. If I need another for the price I will get a second for my 3d foamie 300 and it comes with the receiver so instead of buying an extra receiver for 13 bucks+shipping I can buy another 4ch trans and get the receiver for a few bucks more without having to swap electronics or settings everytime. But man its good to hear you like your HK setup so far....
