I got my cub about a week and a half ago an was biting at the bit to go fly! All the hype and excitement and still 10 to 15 mph winds . I just start to just think that i was never going to get to fly my cub! Then on Tuesday when I was leaving work the flag on the pole was not blowing anymore and my heart got to racing . So i went home and grabbed my cub just like it was Christmas morning and I was 5 again! So on the first flight was about 45 sec and then it was spinning to the ground! So on the second flight it was longer then the first but still nose first in to the ground! That was all of my 5 maiden flight and last on I broke the wing struts on one side and that was the end of flying !
Lets just say that i was mad and depressed and not very happy .
So I went home and showered and ate supper and go the twin boys to bed. I still could not get it out of my mind the it can't be that hard or not fun at all! So I got my cub out and started to fix the cowling and the wing struts (fishing string trick) and just cleaning it up and getting it ready for the next day of spinning to it earth!
DAY 2
So I got off work and no wind and I go get my cub and headed to the Field !
On the first flight it last about 10 mins before it spins to earth and another disappointment . So i go get it and clean the dirt off it and center the wing and put a new prop on it and put it on the ground and off we go again!
So this time I fly it in till the battery dies and then I think what do i do NOW! So I don't panic and i just glide it for a landing slow and easy . Then it goes over my head straight for the road then about 5 ft before it get there I easy back just a tad and I was shock that it touchdown and rolled to a stop ! It was not perfect but it was my first true successful flight !
It made up for the first 6 flights and for the next one it was what I hope for with the cub . It was fun! I flow 4 successfully flight in a row but the landing was not always the prettiest I did not have to do any repair to the cub and to me this is the first step into RC flying!!!! ;D
