I purchased one of those gum stick spy cameras to mount on my cub. I was wondering what is the best way to mount it without just having it flat on the bottom of the plane? Thanks.

Is it this one? I've been wanting to get it for a while but I think I'll go with the FlyCamOne2 instead. You could mount on the side of the fuselage looking forward or between the landing gear attached with rubber bands or tape. It shouldn't affect aerodynamics too much unless you put it on a stabilizer.

yes, that is what I have. I thought about attaching it between the LG, but I didnt know how much vibration it would have.

Are you aware there is now a Flycam3, which can be connected to a Tx so that you can have a downlink (similar to FPV I guess). No good if you fly on 2.4Ghz though, as it is also on this frequency.

I thought that 2.4ghz devices didn't interfere with each other.
Isn't that supposed to be what makes them so good?

I thought that 2.4ghz devices didn't interfere with each other. Isn't that supposed to be what makes them so good? Well sort of. From what I've read the Video link uses a lot of the channels that a radio would use, hence chewing up the available slots. I've also read that it can be used with Spektrum as long as the video is powered up first which takes up most of the available slots, and then the Spekky stuff will check around and (if there is are a pair of channels free) use them. Not sure how this would affect the frequency hopping varieties like the Futaba FAAST, or if there is any other 2.4 gear in use in the vicinity (it's not just models that use 2.4Ghz). I think there are also questions about the Video Tx flooding the Rx if they are located close together. Another consideration is that the radio may also have an effect on the video quality. So my previous statement may have been a bit misleading, a 2.4 Video set up may work with a 2.4 radio setup, but it may not work all the time or very well.

I know about FCO3 but it's $125 and I don't need it for anything other recording the flight so FCO2 at $57 is much better for me PLUS you can hook up a servo to FCO2 to tilt up and down in flight so that's still pretty neat.

To reiterate on what ginginho is saying: 2.4Ghz Radios do not interfere w/ eachother because they hop all available freqs but a FCO3 transmitting on 2.4Ghz that does not have frequency-hopping technology might interfere with the Rx, like ginginho said, specially if they're close to eachother. Spektrum picks 2 free frequencies only and hops within those 2 so if you turn the camera on 1st it will startup and take up the frequencies it needs to ake up then the Spektrum Tx/Rx starts up and chooses two available ones. At least that's the idea...
