I have grown out of my cub and am getting a T28 for Hannukah, but I wanted something to keep me busy for the time being. So yesterday, I picked up a Dx6I and a parkzone sukhoi. I was aware the Sukhoi is an "advanced flier", so I set up my dual rates and expo. Today I maidened it, and WOW. It is great. Went to the park and was doing rolls, loops, inverted, just about everything i knew how to do. LOL. Eventually soccer practice kicked me out, so i brought it home. I decided to fly it around my neighborhood.
I kept it at about half throttle so I could adjust easily. It was going great, until I lost it in the sun. It ended up at the top of a 25ish foot tree. After 10 minutes of ladder grabbing, and poking, I had my Sukhoi back in my hands. The control surfaces were very off center so I thought we would put the DX6i servo memory to the test. I turned on my Dx6i and plugged the (small) battery back in and voila! All control surfaces were perfectly neutral. This is a great plane and I would recommend it to everybody who has mastered the Super Cub.... But keep it on low rates!

I saw a friend fly one of those. He flew it like an ace, loops, inverted and in a breeze to boot!

The wind really messes with you. Lots of corrections, but that adds some more fun to it. Gotta stay on your toes

Ginginho, I will get a video up as soon as possible. Might be a few weeks, looking for someone to film! My brother is recovering from a torn ACL and he is the one that normally films me.
I took her out again today, the wind was a little more intense. In my frontyard, the wind got under it and smashed it into the pole of the stop sign. There was a minor crack in the fuselage where on the front part of the battery slot, but it was nothing serious. I could tell it would be fine to fly with the minor crack. Took it to the field this time and it was great! Started out cruising around the field with a few rolls and loops then i took her up a little higher and clicked on the aileron high rate.... WOW. With very minor aileron stick movement it snapped around a barrel roll. I put her in a dive, pulled up and gave it aileron and it did rolls while climbing. This was my favorite aerobatic manuever of the day. Great plane. If you get it, set up low rates. VERY IMPORTANT.

Picked up my P-51 today. Wow, I hear that it's easier to fly than the Sukhoi and it was pretty touchy. Fun to fly, but I'm glad I've been flying the T-28 first.

See, I'm going backward :0. Sukhoi to the T-28. I have taken my Sukhoi out 3 times in two days, and i think i already have the hang of it. Im hoping the T28 will come to me easily.

I took the Sukhoi out again today. Lots of inverted flight. Lots of fun. My two complaints of this plane are: 1. The landing gear was too short. If i ever tried a ROG (not necessary at all, you can drop the plane to hand launch it) the prop would hit the ground and break. I fixed this be rebending the landing gear so it was taller. 2. The hinge the connected the rudder to the fuselage was weak. It is paper thin, and already broke. But I didnt notice and the rudder was still very functional.
