I agree, we should all have insurance. But i have a question.. there aren't any AMA fields within 20 miles of me. Does this mean, if I get this insurance, I have to drive 20+ miles(towards a city) to go to the nearest AMA sanctioned field JUST to be covered by this insurance? I live in a population 600 town way out in the boonies...we have a huge park and many large open areas to fly in, much bigger than any nearby AMA field and with less people flying. I am 1 of 2 people that i even know that fly in my town and the other is an older fellow that maybe flies outside an AMA field a few times a year. I fly about every other day. I'm not sure how it works in the US, but my insurance via the BMFA insures me at any flying field. I'd assume there would be a statement within the small print about this, if not, email/phone and ask.

So, does AMA insure your park flyer anywhere? Or only at AMA sanctioned clubs/fields?
For example, could I fly at a high school field that is large and open, and I'm the only person there? If someone comes to the field and my plane crashes into their car, would the AMA insurance cover it?
And, I think the AMA Parkflyer insurance only covers up to 2 pounds, correct? So we are covered under the park fly rules?
I also have a 1 million dollar umbrella policy on my homeowner policy. I need to ask if it covers R/C aircraft.

i'm pretty (but not entirely... there's fine print...) sure that it will cover you in any field "that is big enough for safe flying"... so you should fly in a big field to avoid being yelled at. you also can't fly over foot ball games and other stuff. the umbrella policy probably covers your plane on your property. the question is wether the air above you house qualifies as "your property". that's something to ask them. as for the weight limit... see how heavy your plane is! depends on how many mods you did to it.
