Hi all! This is my first post and may be a very stupid one for which I apologise in advance! I am about to lipo my supercub and want to fit a 9x6 prop for a start. The standard HZ prop (10x8 I believe) has a hexagonal recess in the centre hub to fit over the nut on the shaft. I assume that not all props are like this? If not is there some sort of conversion to adapt to flat faced solid hubs? I understand that props designed for IC engines are heavier so I am really concerned with those designed for electric and specifically a 480 can. Any help appreciated, I have read lots but this is never mentioned. Thanks. John

If you use a GWS, get the 10x6 HD (hyperdrive) or DD (direct drive), not the RD (reduced drive, i.e. slow fly a.k.a. SF). Other makes often used include APC-e and (I think) Master Airscrew. I'm pretty sure both of these have a round recess which is large enough to go over the nut on the prop shaft. As long as you tighten the nut that holds the prop in place sufficiently, it should hold in place alright. Many make also supply adaptors to fit the mulitude of diameter prop shafts out there. Make sure you use one of these if the hole for the shaft is too large in the prop, you don't want wobbling.
