My Birthday...Plane...

Hey everyone.

Well Here is the situation.

My G/f and I we talking about my B-day it is awhile away but still, (August) But I came home from flying my cub. I said "God I want another plane" then I said "that would make a good b-day gift..hint hint ( with a smrk included)"

Then I was shocked when she said "well show me which one"

so then we talked some more. She thouhgt as well this would be a good gift, but she said she has no clue what to buy, she woudl need to know everything, and where to get EVERYTHING.

What I will need to buy is the futaba 6ex radio I have been interested, (price seem to be right(used I ca find it for 100.00 Rx, Tx, Tx batt, charger and servo's),and it can do everything it needs to be able to do)

So now i need to decide what frickin plane!!! HAHA

I know this has been asked, hell I pretty sure I have asked.
But... based on what I want, what should I be researching/investigating.

Wants:
Electric
brushless
very good speed
accessories, hopups and parts availability
Durable
some what acrobatic, (loops, rolls, fun fast flying)
Fly on 3S Lipos
$200.00 +/- max

Some planes I have been looking at but not sure if they are the right choice nor know to much about them, I am really looking for popular and good idea's (these could all be wrong, I do not know)

I don't own a huge hanger so this is purely my 2d's worth, not based on experience of flying these.
Of the planes listed, the Yak and the Cap are probably going to be quite twitchy as they are acrobat designs.
The AXN should a stable flyer, quite comparable to an Easystar.
As for the Pitts, I've read that they are nice flyers and go nicely in a Sim. Perhaps a little less agile (but more stable) than the first two I commented on. A Pitts is in my short list of next model..

Have you considered the Parkzone T-28 or Corsair? They are supposed to be a good next plane after a SC. I think they both are available as P-n-P so you can fit your own electrics if you want, spare parts are readily available and they are foam again, so are a probably easier to repair should you have a "moment".

hey i am looking for a performer, but not so darn twitchy she is hard to control/fly.
the only plane in my hanger is the SC. I ike loops, rolls, not major 3d, I would rather have speed over 3D capibility.

I just want to make the best choice, exspecially when it is going to be a gift.

I have thouhgt about the T-28, never thought of the Corsair.

I am just not sure, I know I won't own but 2 maybe 3 planes, so I want to make sure this next one is .... WOW appeal

ginginho hit the nail right on the head. The T-28 and the Corsair would be a great step up. Being Parkzone the spare parts are readily available and they'll stand behind their product. Not as confident about a plane from BH. Here's a link to the T-28 in a PNP version

Both have the same motor, weigh the same, use the same prop have elevator rudder and ailerons so will be very similar. But The Corsair wins out in "coolness", just looks plain old awesome. The T-28 handles the wind a bit better though, and I like the tricycle landing gear. You'll be way happy with either one though.
PS My LHS has a sale on the Corsair PNP and they don't put things on sale unless PZ has them on sale too, maybe you could try for both...

which one is faster? I am thinking they fly the same speed.

On video's everything looks slow. How fast is it compared to a stock super cub using 3S 20C 1750Lipo's (ruffly)

Also anyone flown the AXN Floater jet? Compared to the T-28? Speed wise etc...

The Corsair may be a tad faster but since both planes use the same motor, prop etc. it's hard to tell. Did the Li Po in a stock SC and it seemed anemic at best (compared to SC with brushless motor, which seemed anemic to T-28 or Corsair) One thing about fast, a small error in flying is compounded and becomes a big mistake and a big mistake can become a catastrophic blunder in the blink of an eye.

So in other words either plane is faster then a modified cub on lipo's and a brushless motor.. correct?

And either plane can take a Power 10 or Power 15 equivalent.
In case you REALLY gotta have speed.

My next plane is most likely going to be the PZ Corsair or their new brushless P-51D wich comes RTF and Bind-and-Fly.

Now to put in a Power 10 or 15 would I need to change speed controls in the T-28?

anyone using this setup? so I can learn a little more about it.
