Note: This motor is strong, If u don't want as much power go for a e-fleit 450 instead of a 480

You will need a charger to go with this battery. I just use a charger that came with my blade cx2.
You might also need connectors to fit the battery to the ESC.

Radio System:

I have a DX6I, You can use any radio system for this plane. If you don't have one I recommend the DX6I. It comes with a receiver.

Motor Mount:

Servos:

You can use any micro servos. They sell cheap ones at Hobby City.

Things you need to know:

For elevator, rudder and ailerons you will need 4 servos.
You will need to strengthen the air frame with carbon rods.
If you use the 480 motor the super cub will be FAST.
You might also need servo extension cords and a servo slaver and push rods for the ailerons and control horns.

i have a few flightmax packs and they haven't gave me no problems.

make sure you rebalance after all of this, the plane will be a good bit lighter and probably wont balance correctly. if anything start a bit nose heavy and work your way back.

When you maiden this, please do it somewhere with more space than the sites seen in your other videos, just to be on the safe side.

why, what are the flight characteristic of a brushless super cub.

that aluminum mount looks really nice...much more professional than what most of us use . the only things i would worry about are weight and strength/durability. i would be worried about it crumpling like a pop can on a nose impact...any idea how much it weighs as well?

Not to worry about that motor mount. I have one, and it ain't ever gonna crumple. However, I have proven that you can hit the motor hard enough to separate the tubular part from the backing plate, which seems to be a press fit. There was no deformation, so I just re-pressed the tubular part back into the backing plate with a little epoxy, and it has been flying great ever since. The mount is no where near as heavy as it looks, but don't forget that when you give up the brushed motor and the gearbox, you need something to hold the nose down. I also placed my ESC in the cowl for weight and cooling.

Hmm, I assume this is in response to my post:

I think there is justification in your original post where you stated "If you use the 480 motor the super cub will be FAST."

Glad to hear that, you'll be surprised by the extra speed & lift you get. Take a look at my (pretty poor) video. At 1:10 in it I went WOT to avoid getting too close to a lighting pole, the lift is substantial

My motor aligns closely to the E-flite 480 1020Kv option when comparing power. Price wise, there is no competition!
