Hi all, I've been lurkin in the background for about 1 month now so I guess it's time to say Hi. Got my SC off eBay for a song (it was kinda broke) and epoxied her back together. My FIRST plane was a Cessna 182 from Sky Artek but, after reading a few posts I decided to leave that one in the box until I can at least somewhat fly!! First time out was a BLAST!! Took the wife with me and she couldn't believe I could even get it off the ground! Landed her perfectly- right into a tree! ;D. Got the bigger tires on it and I'm using the lipo that came with the Cessna (proped down to a 10X6 and the jumper removed). Is the SC supposed to ALWAYS want to climb? I've been flying @ half throttle and I have to keep pushing the nose down or she wants to just keep climbing!! My CG is about 2.25" from the LE. I'm wondering if maybe I didn't get the tail alignment right when I glued her back together! Well, back to reading the old posts- There's a TON of good stuff in the forum!!

airdale Congrats onthe first flight (except for the tree, SC just loves to seek out any tree) the planes are a blast to fly. In regards to climbing,you're giving more juice to the motor with a Li Po so it will turn faster and give you more thrust (increasing the lift). Half throttle is where I have to stay for level flight. Make sure your elevator is flat when the battery is plugged in and do as much adjusting with the gray clevis as possible then fine tune it with the trim button. As far as the tail being out of alignment all I can say is to eyeball it for alignment (or use a yardstick)

Hi Airdale, nice to see you stepping out of the shadows As for lift, as Pat says, the more thrust you have, the more lift you'll get. It's pretty normal for an SC as far as I know. Mine and a mates that have had B/L conversions have way too much lift at WOT. I've had to adjust my elevator to give a bit of nose down just so that I can cruise level, that's at less than half throttle, and the CoG is a bit forward of yours.

I can believe the lift!! I just didn't expect it to aim for the stars if I let the Rt Stick go to center (especially @ 1/2 throttle) And I've got about 2 lines (don't know the correct term) of nose down trim in already! And here I thought I'd have a hard time keeping it in the air!! The hard part is getting it to come down!

Thanks for the "welcomes". I've been outta work for the last 3 months and this hobby is just what the doctor ordered!! I've got 4 lipo packs and the FIRST thing I do in the morning is look out the window-NO WIND- off I go to the local park!! I'm begining to think that work is Highly Over Rated ;D
