I am going to make a brushless super cub. I want a e-flite motor that is capable of making my super cub go vertical. What do u recommend?

I have an e-flite 450 brushless and it gives plenty of scoot to the SC, but won't climb vertically until I lose orientation (got a T-28 with a Power 10 that does it though). If you like scale flying, go with a 450, for a lot of vertical climbing go with the e-flite 480 (but that tends to stress and wear out the airframe much quicker)

I've got dozens of E-Flite motors from the Park 180, 250, 400, 450, 480 to the Power 25, 32 and 46. Then I got a Rimfire 42mm for my super sportster and realized it was much more durable than the E-Flites. Got a Rimfire 35mm for the SuperCub several months ago and it is a winner. A 28mm would be comparable in power to the E-Flite Park 450. The shaft & motor casing stand up to crashes much better. A couple nose in's with an E-Flite and the motor will never be the same. Rimfires run smoother too. That's my take. AXI motors look good too.

Want vertical? Go E-Flite 480 or Rimfire 35mm with an 11x6 prop. And a 35 to 40 amp ESC.

Gentlemen, you might want to check a profile before jumping into those kind of questions. We have here a single post from a 14 year old who's sole concern is making a Cub go vertical. Makes me pause just a moment.

Want to go vertical, simply done with stock motor etc.... get up high, nose down into a dive. There ya go, vertical.

Good one Ginho, been there too many times.
Fly, Are we supposed to check out profiles before responding to questions everytime? I do see the danger of arming a youngster with the knowledge to build something that can be deadly if used or done wrong.

Trust me, I have used motors way bigger than a e-flite 480. I can handle it.

After awhile you may notice certain kind of questions phrased in a way that are pretty familiar that make me do some checking. This one has all the signals.

ha no didnt i tell y'all i sold it to a guy at my club? i dont do the electrics anymore (actually i do have one little delta wing that is really fun to mess around with and is good for quick flights). i discovered glow and found it to be much more efficient and less expensive, especially for larger models. most of you would probably disagree...just my .02. i havent been able to find anyone who makes a beaver glow kit or arf...i keep writing to great planes but no one is listening you gotta have some other stuff than the SCs now right ellis? admiral
