Alright I know this has been asked numerous times, but I am asking anyway. ;D
I am looking for a upgrade plane, Suggestions on my next plane, I am looking for a plane that will offer better performance, flight time, sturdy, all around "better" upgrade.
I will be honest though I am really interested in a jet, or something with similar attributes. Please do not tell me I am not ready, or some run around, If I crash, I crash. It does nto need to do 200mph lol just a good beginner jet I guess you could say.
Thanks fella's

low rent and easy > Stryker C RTF cheap + build, with your own electronics > Stryker body and parts Better/faster + build, with your own electronics > Funjet
Huge threads on both.

low rent and easy > Stryker C RTF cheap + build, with your own electronics > Stryker body and parts Better/faster + build, with your own electronics > Funjet Huge threads on both. Other options are the Phase 3 fantom and EF-16. Both fly well on stock kit from what I've read/witnessed. The ARTF versions only require a RX and servos.

I'd have to vote stryker too. I have had some of the EDF's out there and was not as impressed as I am with the stryker. If you like speed and all out fun the stryker is a good choice. Crashing a edf is very time consuming to get back flying right again. At least that was my experience. Balancing a prop is much easier than a fan. Strykers take crashes rather well. They are easy to upgrade and fly....very stable. Capable of slow flight as well as blistering fast speeds.
Just my $.02 Kevin

the phase3 f16 is nice but if you have no edf or jet experince its probably gonna be a 99 dollar mistake. it has a higher wing loading even stock so its no glider. also has very little vertical performance stock. but its very nice looking and fun to fly, repairs arnt bad either since its all foam.
I would get a great plane xpd8 or miglet. they are cheap, easy to fix, and fly fairly well on the stock brushed motor. its a bit slower but that's not a bad thing, there is always better motors out there. it flys well at low speeds which is good compaired to most jets.
stay awat from alpha modles, they are very nice plane but are not very strong, one good crash and its done fore..

Pelikan Waco Biplane for Hobby Lobby. It looks good, and performs like a champ as well. 4-wing alierons make for good roll rate.Brushless and Lipo. All for under 200. You can't beat it.It may not be a jet, but it gets the job done.

What are you looking for? I just got the E-Flite Apprentice and after working a few bugs out like it quite a bit. Very stable decently powered aileron plane. Has tricycle landing gear, nice for take-offs and landing. Nice speed, GPS documented 58 m.p.h. level flight with dives just under 80m.p.h., although more probably is there. It is a bigger plane than the Super Cub for sure with a nearly 60" wing span and weighs in at I believe 43 ounces flight ready. Link to it, www.e-fliterc.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL2725I just started a forum on this plane as well. If you look at the plane and are interested in it stop on by the forum. apprentice15.proboards.com/index.cgiGood luck on plane hunting and let us know what you choose. Wayne

What is the difference between the Miglet and the XPD8? which one is better?

The difference is 30 bucks. They are almost identical and if they fly anything like the synapse then leave well alone. The synapse had a brushless motor and didn't have enough power. Not real crazy about GP's edf's myself but some do like them. Once you have tried a good edf nothing else compares. Of course you could always upgrade the fan unit and the motor. I see your looking at getting a radio seperatley so no need for a rtf. Maybe a plug and play is right for you? They come with servo's installed and usually a bl motor and esc installed. Check into spare parts availability and costs before pulling the trigger. Not sure what they cost for this but a whole new stryker airframe is 20 bucks.

Yeah money is a concern. I a looking to "upgrade" as stated, and interested in a "jet" type plane as staed but I do nto want to spend "alot" I am upgrading, not diving in head first. But i think a Futaba 6EXA wouldbe a good choice for up to 6 model planes. So I think I need to find one of those I can afford first, try to get a good deal. We will see, I just can not buy "everything" all at once. Charger, battery, plane, radio, etc.... it sucks.

Ok now I am thinking stryker C or the PARK ZONE T-28 Trojan.
Thoughts? Opinions? Go with plug & play, I will need radio/receiver, charger, and batteries. So I am lookign at 300-350 (if I am lucky)
So thinking that way RTF looks appealing? Or try to find a deal on Ebay for instance?
Thanks everyone.

Well it all depends on what radio you want. Personally I would take the 6ex over any of the competitors offerings. Thats my opinion. I also like pnp's for that reason. You get to use your favorite radio.. Even more fun and better is to build it yourself. Buy the airframe and put your own servo's in it as well as beef anything you want up before putting on decals or paint. Many ways to do it.

the miglet and xpd8 are almost identical, and are both lighter then the synapse and have more wing area which like kevin said doesn't fly very well stock. mine was a big pain in the butt to launch with out throwing it into the ground.
stryker are fun, but like other small planes they get small in a hurry when they are in the air. some day i might build one for park flying.

Check out the AXN Floater Jet from Hobby City. Only $60 and all you need it a radio, receiver and battery, it comes with everything else... GREAT second plane... (not counting my Vapor and a couple scratchbuilt foamies) www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8359&Product_Name=AXN_Floater-Jet__/_Ready_To_Fly_EPOI have flown a Super Cub for about 9 months, although I mostly fly helicopters, but I got pretty bored with the Cub. I have cut ailerons in it, upgraded to brushless, etc, and now use it for night flying. Here is some video of my Floater Jet, its faster, and more aerobatic than the cub, its like going from a station wagon to a go cart
