Wondering if anyone has fixed "droops" onto their cub?
I'm thinking it would aid slow flying/stability , handy for arial photo's
I have some thin clear plastic sheet which i'm thinking of using.......but would be handy to know if anyone else has done this, and if so, with what results

Believe it is a nickname for wing flaps.

"Droops" fix on the wings leading edges, a few models come with them, the Eflite Mentor for one
Basically a v shaped length of plastic, taped to the top and bottom of the wings leading edges, i shall have to see if I can put a picture up, when i've done mine

At the risk of sounding stupid, what exactly do they do?
It just looks like the LE is pushed forward and hence legthening the chord of the wing so may effect stability as suspected in the opening statement. I assume you suspect this because they give a larger wing surface, leading to more lift from the wing....correct??

Yep, your right.......i'm interested in going as slow as possible in the cub, so hopefully this mod will decrease stall speed
And evidently it helps slowdown, "tip stalls"
I shall see when I try it

Leading edge slats, developed by Handley Page IIRC. They work well on full-size, and reasonably well on models; their job is to delay the stall in that section of the wing. By installing them near the ailerons, it maintains aileron effectiveness up to the point of complete stall of the wing. On full-size, these slats are up against the wing at flying speed, and "blow out" near stall. I once saw a Helio Courier doing slow-speed figure eights, and one could actually hear the slats popping in and out...

tlyttle That makes sense, the e flite T-34 Mentor has droops and the e flite Apprentice has what looks like droops (asked at LHS and was told they were not droops but they explained their function it sounded awfully similar to droops) baz I'm thinking that with all the dihedral in the wing the plane is slow and steady, without dihedral it is faster and squirlley. Do you think you'll take out the dihedral, add ailerons and droops? That sounds very interesting.
