Well we talked of this before Mr Mugen but for the sake of conversation I am very big into Northern Pike and Musky fishing. I don't do much of any ice fishing but when open water I'm ALL over it.
Rivers and small lakes mostly but a couple times a year we hit Lake of the Woods or Mille Lacs.
Anyone out there want to do Big Fork this year? We have been wanting to drop the canoe in there for years but have never got there.

If it'll take a fly, I'd probably fish for it...mostly salmonoid familyhowever...but I've had pike, walleye and carp take a fly when its presented right...hehe.

I like fly fishing the rocky N.H streams for trout or off shore fishing for cod and haddock. Jim

Jim, your hometown must not be far from mine. I am originally from the Derry and Plaistow area. Somehow ended up out here in Minnesota, I am trying to remember how?
Do you want some tips on some nice Pickerel streams?

Wayne , I live in Stratham about 35 mi. from derry or 20 mi. from Plaistow.I use to work in Plaistow at Gilly's cycle rama back in the 80's. I haven't done much warm water fishing lately.I use to go a few years ago with my brother when he had a bass boat. Now whenever I get a chance it's usually up to the mountains for trout or I have a couple of friends that run deep sea party boats I can hop on. Jim

Great looking salmon mr.m. Are they safe to eat from the big lakes? I've heard they can have a lot of heavy metals and can only be eaten in small portions if so what a shame. After seeing them I think I'll throw some on the grill for dinner tonight.

They can be eaten in large quantities....lol. The lakes are so clean now since the introduction of zebra mussels. They only live for a max of 4 years so they don't get to hang out long anyway.

we eat a lot of salmon in my house. I went to culinary school a few years back just to be able to eat great food. My family is happy I did (since I met my sig other there)....they all eat top shelf meals if you know what I mean.

My daughter was asked to use the word "debate" in a sentence in school yesterday. She said ok "while fishing with my dad I asked him to pass debate" ......lol. She is gonna be a comedian I swear! She is only 6 years old (almost 7). She is funny with word plays.
