Paul,
Sorry to hear about the paint. What exactly caused the paint to come off? Did it not adhere correctly? Did the camera capture it coming off?

Hi Todd The paint i used was like an acrylic, it was fine until i put some tape on it. When i pulled off the tape the paint followed, like the skin of a rice pudding. ;D Thats the least of my problems.. The Cub and my vid cam ended up in the sea today. Took off and a gust of wind just grabbed it and dumped it in the surf. SC is fine but the cam was full of sea water. Its been a day of many emotions.. ;D

Sounds like a bummer day!!! My wife washed my cell phone in the cloths washer a couple weeks but after letting it dry for a day it worked. I couldn't believe it so maybe your camera will be fine.

Todd Got some advice from a guy on Rcgroups. Washed it down with tap water and then let it dry. Had a few other problems with it but its a long story. Its now working, and here the result. Theres a little bit of waviness, i think thats where the tape holding the camera is being buffeted by the prop wash. I need to secure more. media.putfile.com/scc

SCC great cub............. doesnt anyone on this site crash these planes??? LOL Way to bring a three year old thread back to life man! I didn't even know the forum was around back then We all crash, but once you get good at this hobby you can usually fix it before anyone notices. Some of us do loose our planes though; from time to time You know, after reading this thread, I think i may know of a solution to the tape pulling off the paint. Paint the whole plane in a polyurethane sealer should do the trick nicely, and if you have a spray gun and a compressor you can dilute it and spray it on yourself for a nice, even, thin coat. The product I would use is wattyl estapol satin, it's a clear gloss that's mainly used on timber.

SCC great cub............. doesnt anyone on this site crash these planes??? Ahh, the memories. My SC was only a few weeks old in those shots. I wish it looked like that now. Unfortunately she now rests in the garage broken, twisted and covered in dust but I will not get rid of her. ;D
