Well I tested the flapperons and liked it a lot. I programed a little up elevator in with the flaperons and it went off great. I was able to hover with no problems at all. Even the gusts seemed to breeze right by it. The wind was around 5-8mph with some 10 gusts but no too many. I didn't get video yet because we video'd the spit fire twice and the F-27C twice. I will get some footage of it for sure. I use the Futaba 7CAP radio and a GWS 6ch rx for it. I was impress at how easy it was to fly at slo-v speeds (not able to sustain for long without wind though) and pull right out of it no problem. I will keep you's posted of future improvements to this feature. Kevin ;D

I will definatley get you's some video of it hovering....the problem is I usually go fly alone for the most part. Sometime I can conn my daughter into videoing but not always.
Programing some elev into the flap function is quite easy with this radio. I can mix any channel with any channel. Also the amount of throw in any mix and dual rates for all them too. This radio is sick! It has more features then most and I am loving it. However the features can kill ya sometimes too! I went to fly my stryker with some friends and forgot to switch models from my cub to the stryker and BANG! Bent nose stryker coming right up...lol. Lesson learned.....

Hey Kevin, How much "Up" elevator did you use? My TX goes from -100% to +100%. I was thinking maybe 15-20%? Guess I will just have to play with it while its real high up...

What ARE flapperons? Are they the same as flaps? What are flaps? Thanks

its using the ailerons as flaps. you need to use separate servos. flaps are like ailerons but they go the same direction to and increase lift for low speed take-offs and landings. they help on the cub because it floats so much, so you can slow down more and maintain stable flight so you can land easier.

So if I wanted to have both ailerons and flaps I would have to have two servos per flap? Thanks for your swift replys

if you wanted separate flaps and ailerons you would need one set for the ailerons and one for the flaps, or you could use one servo for the ailerons and two for the flaps.

Presumably you could fly slower too. This would be great for beginners. Imagine if the flaps were on a clickable hinge, so you did not need a servo. Before take off you could click them in the slow position (down) or in the regular position.

No I don't think you understand! What I mean is if I wanted to use my ailerons as flaps too would I have to add a separate servo per aileron/flap?

yes. you need a radio that is programmable, when you activate the flapperion function it will move both flaps in the same direction so you would need two separate servos, one to control each side.
