I am installing Eflite mini pulse XT landing gear on my SC. I just cut out the foam ahead of the batt. box to fit a piece of hardwood square stock in there to screw to. Heck I'll let you's see what I did so far and let the pic's talk. Kevin

Looks good so far. My only concern is that the landing gear will torque that narrow piece of wood and rip out the foam underneath it. It will looks tons better than the stock wire.

It has very little flex. I used a piece of dowel to put into the square piece to run to the top of the fuse for strength for rough landings to avoid what swampy was talking about. I am going to do it to another plane and will get better pic's of the process.

Well here are the specs. I used .096" CF rod to beef up the impact zone on this SC. In this pic if you look hard you can see 2 CF rods below my name. They run up and down. In this pic you can see how I used a piece of plastic tubing to make a bushing to take the slop out of the wheel runout. It spins true and straight. Simply used 6-32 screws for the axles and nuts to hold them on (make sure to loc-tite). As you can see the tires on here are huge compared to stock tiny tires. I like the scale look of these much more. They are 2 3/4" tires that are foam and I am not sure how or when I got them. They are super light and very soft. Should prove to lessen impact on those not so perfect landings. Enjoy the pics....hope to see someone else try it and give feedback too. Peace, Kevin

I like the looks of that. The top picture kinda looks like an x-ray. While it was loading I couldn't figure out what it was at first.

Just wondering how the new gear is working? I got my gear today but have not installed it yet.

Hello All I have an SC obviously and would like to share some mods on landing gear and other mods. Bought the SCX about four months ago. It is a cool first plane despite some of teh problems I had with it which had to do with manufacturing quality control. see link below. my user name at wattflyer is "III Bones Air Force" www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=215741#post215741
