Hello everybody. I live in Mesquite, TX and am proud father of two boys(8&1). My wife bought the kid an Airhog Aero Ace and opened up a whole can of worms. Next thing you know I'm at the hobby shop buying a Super Cub. Truly amazing plane! Never owned any major r/c vehicles before this and was kind of questioning myself driving home with the wife and new plane. I recall not being fully aware of just how powerful it was and on the first two attempts not commiting to flight. Just launching, getting scared, and immediately try to land it. Totally silly! Managed to break fuselage right in front of tail on first attempt. Talk about heartbreaking! Went home and fixed her up and was out within next few days. Second attempt almost mirrored first except a little longer flight and no breaks. Had to walk a long way for the Cub. Feeling a bit silly. Well, this past Friday I decided I just needed to commit to flight. I knew I just needed to get it up there and worry about the rest once it was flying. Boy was I right! Third attempt and she was up and flying. Very shaky but flying nonetheless. Told wife all passengers would surely be sick. I now have 20 flights on her with no breakage. Landings were all in grass so she nosed over sometimes and landing gear slightly bent but no major harm. Replaced cowl and prop and are still in great shape with 18 landings. As soon as I can tighten up my landings I will try to land on concrete. I had no help learning how to fly other than reading your forum and short time with simulator and alot of time imaginary flying. You guys have been alot of help and I love the awesome videos. It lets me see what I have to look forward to with mods and whatnot. Anyways, I know I'm a little late on the scene and debated on whether or not to post this but I just had to share my exploits with some guys who have been there. I think I have my buddy talked into getting one too! I see some air combat missions in the future!
