Joe here - I have two married kids (boy and girl) and looking forward to my first grandchild. I live in Connecticut and fly locally in the early AM when wind permits. I used to fly U-control many eons ago, always wanted to do RC but at the time the expense was absurd. Fast forward to 2006 and RC got real cheap and electrics made park flying possible, so I plunged back in with the SC - never looked back and now I also started www.ampaviators.com to boot! I have another site called www.overclockers.com that I have been doing for the last 10 years. I plan to build AmpAviators hopefully to the level of Overclockers.com (about 400,000 uniques/month) - you all can help by contributing articles to post. So now the house is full of computer gear that I review and RC planes and gear in various states to write about - my wife is extraordinarily tolerant of all this, thank goodness!

Well, hi there everyone, my names Chris, and i own a SC! its the 1st rc plane ive ever had....im a complete newbie! i bought it a few days ago, and havent managed a proper flight coz the wind here has been too strong. i have had it in the air, briefly a few times, and lets just say i made a trip back to the hobby store for some spares anyway... a bit about me..im 35yo, married with 2 kids, and i live in Adelaide, Australia. im glad i found this forum...everyone seems really enthusiastic about their SC and i love the mods you guys are all doing. i think though, that i'll learn to fly it properly first, before i attempt anything too outrageous ( although i've started to reinforce some of the SC's inherent weak points.....) so, anyway gday to all!

Richard here out of Atlanta Georgia. Right now I am in training to fly helicopters commercialy. I will be done with that in a year and be paid to fly. I get to fly 2-3 times a week but when ever I am not in a helicopter you can find me playing with the smaller ones.

Hello all, Mike here from DFW, Texas. I'm new to RC flying other than a couple of control line Cox Mustangs I had as a kid. I was way too young to be patient enough to learn back then. The Super Cub is my first plane this time around and it's a hoot to fly. I love it. I just bought a Hobbico Electristar, and it's giving me fits (the ESC is overheating, shutting off after several minutes of flight). The Super Cub has been trouble free so far. I haven't even experienced any cutouts caused by the battery connectors that I read about so frequently. I'm currently adding ailerons and the requisite new electronics, larger wheels, and some other mods so the plane is down for now. I appreciate this site tremendously, so please, keep up the good work

hi fella,s .i am new to the site.the names chris[limey],from aylesbury, england ive had five flights with my super cub so far,its the only plane that,s flown for me,ive had athunder tiger sparky 400,a hobbyzone firebird,a powered glider, which caught fire,an aronica which i got hold of as an airframe and equipped with a brushless setup, first flight rolled over and buried itselfalso two or three planes i made from plans, all seem to end up the same way.but lo and behold up comes the super dooper cub .,i love it.anyway i decided to take my seventeen year son flying with me today.i said to him right, let me get the bird in the air, then iwill hand over the controls, well the upshot is,with only a slight brease the sc climbed with its usual authority,so i cut down to half power for a leisurely pootle about, ias i cranked the sc round for a turn,a gust of wind caught her and she landed in a tree 40 feet up,i walked to the nearest house and borrowed an adjustable ladder.with the help of my son we manouvered this orrible great into position against the tree. damm the stupid grest thing was only 26 ft long.i trudged back to the house and borrowed some drain cleaning rods.i got half way up the ladder, while my son screwed the rods together and passed them up to me.of course the rods where made of bamboo.and of course with so many rods joined together.they began swaying about and bent backwards like a banana.nearly pulling me off the ladder.rats.it ment i had to climb right to the top of the ladder. in order to keep the rods straight.after about an hour and a half. i finaly managed to poke my poor sc out of the tree.she glided down without so much as a scratch.fired her up.and flew for a few feet.went l like a dream.the wholr exersize scared the living daylights out of me but i wasnt leaving the cub behind.iwas prepared to sleep under the tree all night until the wind got up to blow the plane out of the tree.has any one else had a similar experience

hello everyone I am from Bellefonte Pennsylvania. I am retired from transportation dept. Just got my cub last week too bad of weather to tryit. I am going to put bigger wheels on before my first flight. I built a great planes PT40 but decided to try the cub before I crashed the one I have so much time invested in. I hope this is as much fun as the anticipation is. Next week I am going to the Piper museum in Lock Haven Pa about 20 miles. Gary

Hey everyone, I hail from the wasteland I and the rest of the world call Red Deer Alberta Canada. I went out and bought a sc shortly after my one friend let my try his out. Since then, i've had about a dozen flights, broken and repaired it in the usual places, have scratchbuilt a set of skis that work quite well, did the gws float conversion, and added larger wheels. I have yet to test out the floats and wheels personally, I'm waiting for the blustering winds to calm down. Thanks to this forum for all of the float building tips, it was super helpful. I'm currently working on adding LED lighting to the sc, I'm a 12 volt automotive installer, and have access to some really great LED products, so as soon as I'm done, I'll be sure to get some pics loaded up. Nice To meet everyone!!!!

Hi: My name is Stan and this is my first post on this site. I live in Pleasanton, California and am a retired mechanical engineer. My grandson just took up RC flying (with his dad - my son) and I wanted to get in on the fun so I bought a Super Cub which I hope to learn to fly as soon as the wind here stops. It is amazing to me that there is a site devoted to just this one airplane. I think this is going to be a great hobby with lots of help available here and on other sites.
Previously, I built a race car as a hobby using only information from web sites and forums. What a great resource the internet is. My wife was greatly relieved when I sold the race car and started with RC planes. The cost is at least 10 times less, LOL.

I'm from Gloucester (aka Ottawa), Ontario, Canada. I just bought the Super Cub today to replace my first plane -- a Firebird Freedom. After taking it out this evening for a couple of flights, it has restored my confidence in flying after my poor experience (and lack of experience, I suppose) with the Firebird Freedom. This is an amazing plane.
