I was wondering the same. I just picked up a spray can of Plasti Cote, the stuff for spraying on tool handles to get a non slip grip. Am concerned a little about the weight, only plan on covering the last 5 inches of wing tip though. Will test it on a piece of foam and get back...

Well, tried it (Plasti Dip not Plasti Cote) on a piece of foam and it is NOT foam friendly. What a mess. lol Back to the old drawing board...

Did get a can of the brush on Plasti Dip. Tried it on a test piece of foam, 2 layers and it turned out OK. Stuff dries pretty quickly! When I applied it to the wings I taped over a painted part by accident and ended up pulling some of the paint off, good news is it all peeled off like a latex glove. After the second try I have 4 1]/2 inch wing tips that are red and rubbery, tough as nails too. i258.photobucket.com/albums/hh273/patmatgal/SConskisr.jpg[/IMG

Clear packing tape. Works like a charm. If it's a rounded piece just put a few cuts in it with your exact knife.

hi guys try putting tape on the end of the wings it helps then it scratches the tape not the wing. it helps a lot with landing in case the wing dives on you.

Older post, but Plasti Cote used to be very limited in colors, but that has changed a bit over the years. It is popular with the teens these days and often used to darken tail lights and such. I was wondering just how much weight it added and after some exposure in the sun, how well it was UV friendly. Our Texas triple-digit days here would play havoc on paint if it were not protected from UV rays.
