I got some Dubro Super Light wheels, 2.5". I also ordered brass tubing and nuts as I expected to have to make new axles as someone else did with other wheels. However, these are a straight swap. I just unscrewed the nut on the SC, put the new wheels on, put a crop of CA on in the nut and screwed them back on til the wheel started binding then backed off a bit. The wheels roll free with no play or wobble.
The difference is huge. Long straight takeoffs and smooth over rough ground and short grass now.

Sounds like a good mod. Are they strong?

The wheels themselves are strong, about like any wheel. The landing gear is the stock SC wire. I am going to replace it with aluminum. I have an idea for a way to mount them with shock absorbing. If it works I'll post about it.

Jim Jim, I am unable to find 2.5" Dubro Super Light wheels, I'm not finding them that big. Do yu have a link? Thanks, Kevin
