Well here it is. I have never seen anyone do this yet and figured what the heck. I used a simple piece of balsa plywood, 2 EZ connectors, a piece of wire and a spare micro servo....and of course channel 5. It works slick and will be maidened tomorrow. Short video www.youtube.com/watch?v=3O4D-z7396c

Love it!!!!
I wonder how much extra lift you will get with it down. I think it would work kinda like flaps.

Not sure? Good point though. I am going to use FFF for boxing in the compartment. and replace the back section of the underside. It works flawlessly in the bench tests I've run. I've decided to wait until I make the new aileron wing. The cow wing has seen it's days. It still works good and all but it is getting stock radio gear again for the kids to train on. I am building a whole new SC. I am thinking of what paint scheme to use this time. It will be good I know that much. I want it to release multiple jumpers too. Will be a few more days until I maiden this one. I will keep you's posted.

That was the first thing that came to my mind too! Weird! LOL I will have to go buy a case of them and make a tube to put them in and use another servo to cycle them one at a time. This could get interesting.

What an awesome mod!
The first thing I thought was how many super balls can you fit in there. Get up a few hundred feet and let them drop on an empty parking lot. Should be good for a laugh. :-)

Ha, BOING BOING BOING. That would be hilarious. I wonder if the paintballs would actually go SPLAT or not?

NOPE. I do not have stock radio gear in it. I use Futaba radios and hitec servo's in all my r/c's. I would like to alter the x-port drop mod for a different radio but am unsure about how to do it. Kevin

It sure is and a great way to make a game. Try to get the dropdude or bombs in a circle on the ground and maybe put a bullseye in it for extra points.

Greetings I was inspired to do this mod on my cub as well. I dropped the parachute guys which were cool. From real high up he can take over a minute to float down. I tried the super balls on the parking lot which was hilarious. ;D They can be hard to find back though. But I found my favorite thing to drop this weekend at the fireworks stand. I filled the bomb bay full of party snaps. The little white paper things that you throw on the ground and they pop. I then lined up on our little parkign lot and did a high speed dive bomber pass. The resulting snap crackle and pop was very cool. I am going back to the fireworks stand tonight to load up for the rest of the year. Just sharing the fun. Berserker out

;D That all sounds like fun. When the rain and wind finally stops in the UK im going to get one of those drop modules. i work next to a golf course and we are always getting balls over hitting the cars, so i thought of dropping a few of those fun exploding golf balls you get from joke shops over there, just for a laugh think it would look real good on a hard ground as they just explode in to a cloud of smoke. fun snaps now that takes me back.
