:)Wanted to practice low flying and turning, so as always popped on flycam and away i went. done a few circuits of playing field. trying to get low and control the speed with turns, normally just go up high and fly around so it made a change and helps with flying skills and confidence. ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlslTSqyC3U

Nice flying. I'm going to have to try that myself (on a nice, calm day).

Well, the winds were calm this afternoon, so I decided to practice some low-flying turns myself. Unfortunately, this also led to my first crash of 2008 (into myself, no less). Luckily, I made some quick field repairs, and resumed flying. Here's a link to the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qGHWrmmmrQ

That looks like a real fun place to fly clipper, well done, but you can get much lower with the turns while flying the cub. I never used to use the throttle much(sounds like you were on full all the time) but found flying round at half open and sometimes less gives some real nice steady low flights. With the cub being so easy and cheap to fix I'm finding now that I'm more confident trying new things and not so concerned about crashing. This really is a great plane. i would love to see someone do some crazy low flying or flying in unusual places other than huge fields.

Yeah, I found that backing off the throttle helped me as well. In the first flight (where I crashed into myself) I was flying at full throttle. In the second flight, I backed it off to half-throttle part of the way through the flight, and found that it was much easier to keep low to the ground and make nice, steady turns. I definitely want to try some new (and more exciting venues), but it's just so easy to use that park since it's so close to my house. In fact, you can see my house in most of the videos.
