Any thought on which battery to upgrade to without converting to lipos or doing major mods to the SC.Not getting the flight time I would like to and think there should be an alternative out there. Thanks for the help

Flydiver, thanks for the info. SB352, here's a good deal on some 9.6V 1400mAh NiMH batteries found and posted here earlier by clipper453. www.all-battery.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=490The link takes you directly to the battery that will work in your SC. However, they come with mini Tamiya female connectors so you will have to make a trip to Al's to have the Deans installed.

I bought some of those as 7-cells. I'd say they are 90% as good for about half the price. The CBP Elites have a noticeable punch 'regular' batteries didn't have.

I got a 9 cell from the LHS. Mods are simple. Just take a dremel and cut part of the back plastic brace on the battery box and cut into the foam a little. It takes 15 seconds. 9 cell fits in there real nice. Whoah the power. I originally bought it for the extra juice when night flying... but obviously its fun during the day with the lights turned off. I'll never go LiPo in my cub... got other planes for that... but those 8 and 9 cell batteries are nice... fun for playing in the wind too.

sackohammers, Why never go lipo in the cub? It's lighter, you only have to make one cut in the battery box, and I can fly for 20 minutes at 1/2 throttle and still land without reaching lvc. Of course it is my only plane right now so I don't have other planes to flly lipo's in
