I did a no no today....well yesterday. I flew my typhoon with a brand new 3s 2200mah lipo yesterday. I ended up hitting myself with the plane trying to land in hellacious wind. I hurried up and turned the switch off on the plane then my radio. I forgot to unplug the battery. I just now went to grab the pack and charge it for the stryker maiden and found it still plugged in. The voltage in the whole pack is 2.56v . This pack is ruined. Thats right $80.00 shot in the you know what! So let this be a lesson for you guy's. Don't make a stupid costly mistake like this if possible. I made it for you's. Peace

Well right now I am convinced I can get the thing working again but time will tell. The balance charger will not give it the time of day. The vision peak ultra did not want to charge it on a .1amp setting or a 1.0 amp setting, so I put it right up to 2.2amp and off she went. It is registering 9.5+ volts now....unbelieveable. I set up a charging stand in the garage on the concrete floor and cleaned everything around it for 10 feet. So far so good. Post later.

It's now at 12.02 volts WOW I hope it keeps going this good and stays this good. I never would have thought! I now this much though...if I am going to toss a new 80.00 battery I am going to make sure it's good and dead first....or learn something from it. I have marshmallows, sticks for roasting and chocalate/graham crackers on stand by just in case.. ;D

12.57 and still charging! No swelling! No heat! No fire! Don't try this at home....lol. It is looking real good so far. I'll have to run a test on it once it's done. I'd like to know what it's capacity is now that I did a boo boo. Almost 1 1/2 hours on it now. PRAY FOR THE PACK

So what is the verdict? Did it work? You are a brave man to risk your home in this way. From the videos I've seen of lipo's burning I'm not sure 10 feet is enough room!

It ended up in the driveway instead....I forgot to mention that. It worked. I have yet to run it on anything yet but want to tonight. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow morning and wanted to take a few planes with. I kind of wanted this pack to go too. We'll see what happens. I charged a good 35 minutes once it reached 12.54v. It took almost 2 hours to finish the charge. Nothing was abnormal otherwise. I was expecting the worst. Now it has been 4 hours now and it is holding a charge fine. It is reading a steady 12.5v's. I am happy so far.

Well it is officially back to normal. It took the charge and dumped it fine. It drew 185W constant for over 8 minutes. I let it go to the LVC and charged it back up. No problems what so ever. It did take a while to get it to charge initially. I had to get the pack over 4.0 volts for the charger to recognize it. I am not sure why but it is what it is. I am taking it with me on my trip so I don't have to worry about my house mysteriously burning down while I'm gone.....lol.
So my advise to anyone trying to get a dead horse up for a ride is to let it sit in a safe place until the voltagerises over 4v and THINK. IS it worth it? Make darn sure your ready for the worst to happen! It didn't for me but it MAY for you.
I am not responsible for anyone's bad attempts at this or their burned down house.

What would be the difference between turning off the switch and disconnecting the battery? Either way the battery is isolated from a load / draw. Just wondering if maybe your lvc isn't working properly.

Believe it or not there is still some draw when hooked up. If you leave your car parked for a few months and try to start it usually it will not....battery is dead or near dead. I have never had a lipo lose powr while unplugged but when left plugged in it does draw current. The esc is brand new and the lvc kick in at 9.0v. When I landed the plane it had better then half a charge left. It was a short flight.
